Know what I hate? Unlocking the same helmet I just unlocked, except this one had some dumb white stripes that don’t even look good on it. Know what I really hate? Doing that like 5 times for each set. Know what I also hate? Unlocking an armour and a helmet piece but they’re not of the same set. Know what I really also hate? Doing that 5 times too.
These are all ideas for Halo 6. What would you guys say to a Halo 4/Reach customization/unlocking system?
Customization
Full customization. Obviously have full control of which pieces of armour you want so you can mix match or stick with a full set.
Modifications/add-ons. These would include things like extra plating, ammo belt, grenade belt, knives, little pocket thingies, leaf pancho, scarfs, hoods, back swords hayabusa style, scratches/scuff marks, knives stuck in your armour, dirt, ice/snow, cracks, flood gunk, fur, fabrics, grass, bullet holes, undersuit chainmail, CAPES?! (maybe not capes). You get the idea, go wild.
Decals. These would include symbols, numbers, letters, words, patterns, etc. and the sizes of all of these. Undersuits can also have these added.
Colours. Colour customization for armour is a given. I would also like them for everything in point 2 and 3.
Themes. Let’s get a little crazy (this is for you Bob Ross). Let’s have different themes than just “spartan”. ODST, marine, Sangheli, Jiralhanae, Flood, Forerunner, Promethazine. Maybe for spartan armour since there’s so many kinds you could have classic and modern designs. All these themes would also affect decals and add-ons.
Unlocking system
Let’s mix in a little of everything. You would unlock the actual armour pieces by levelling up and completing commendations. The way you would get things like decals and add-ons would be buying them via credits or req points or whatever they’re gonna be called next time.
What do you fine Halo people think? What would you not like? What would you like added?
This sounds absolutely perfect! The way I see it, the more options and in-depth customization we have, the better. I would love to have my Spartan be truly unique, and this is the way to do it.
I could definitely see this working in Halo 6. Great idea, dude. You might wanna pitch this to Ske7ch, cause he is kinda the guy who’s supposed to relay stuff like this to 343.

> Yeah but they would cover limbs from behind.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, good post! I’m with you in terms of always wanting more, more, more in terms of customization options. That said I haven’t been privy to plans and discussions for the future yet so I don’t know what the team is thinking. For what it’s worth I’ll continue to represent the community internally when and where possible when it comes to developing future plans. I know a lot of people desire more options and more control over their Spartan’s appearance.
And since I’m still new here and feeling my way around, it’s probably worth just reminding that my reading and responding to posts like this in no way confirms or denies the implementation or lack thereof of feature requests in current or future projects. I love to hear suggestions and ideas and want to be able to have a dialog but don’t want people to inadvertently read too much into it if you know what I mean.

Gotcha, thanks for responding. I have a feeling you’ll do well in your new role, welcome and good luck
