Armour Unlock System Idea

The credits system in Reach made getting armour really annoying because in order to get the armour you wanted you had to play a lot. I’m the type of person that hates having the defaults so even if its not the armour I want I will still use the basic pieces that are available right away and I’ll buy more as I unlock them, this make getting the armour I really want take even longer.

I’m not sure how many ways there were to get armour in H3 but it was a lot better because you could get the armours you want much faster with the completion of certain challenges.

Because the H3 system might make getting armour to fast and get dull faster I don’t think it would be a good idea to go back to the same system, but the Reach system can burn in hell for all I care.

I was thinking maybe there could be some kind of challenge tree. There could be a challenge tree for the three game modes(Campaign, basic Matchmaking, and Fire Fight). Every time you complete a challenge another harder and or longer challenge becomes available. Every challenge you complete gets you armour.

This is not the best way it could be, I’m sure my system could be improved a lot more.

Thoughts??

Great idea :3

I much prefer Halo Reach’s style, though maybe not it’s delivery. Halo 3’s system was incredibly limited, and even if it was expanded on, it would encourage boosting to get armor, much like Halo 3 did. I wouldn’t mind some armor varients being unlocked but I much prefer buying.

No matte what the system is there will always be boosters.

Yes, but the frequency of boosting for armor is significantly lower in Reach than in Halo 3, in which every game was “who wants to boost?” in the pre-game lobby.

Your pretty much boosting every second you play Reach.

Okay…

How exactly?

The problem with the current armor unlocking system is that it really isnt about customization, it’s currently about showing off what you have unlocked. If they really want customization make every unlocked from the get go.

helmets like haunted and recon are GREAT ideas though. they give that element of HOLY GUACAMOLE!!!

No one would have bragging rights, =].

How? Boosting is playing with intent of manipulating the outcome of a game in favor of one’s self or another.

But that’s no fun.

That would make if boring and dull really fast.
