Armour skins on certain armour?

i was just thinking, will the skin only work if you have that certain set?! or will it work on any armour you have on?!

I believe each armour set has a certain skin with it. For example, Recruit has the PRIME SKIN (for people who get the Limited Edition of the game).

So when I equipt my helmet, there will be an option to have the skin on. I can have the PRIME skin on my helmet. Then I pick my torso, I can choose if I want the PRIME skin on my torso. I choose not to have it on my torso. I have it on one shoulder and not the other.

However if I choose an armour piece that is not Recruit I cannot apply the PRIME skin to that armour piece. That armour piece should have it’s OWN skin that I can apply. But no, you cannot apply all skins to all armours.

oh right so if i wanted the recruit shoulder but thts it i could choose to have the skin on just that shoulder?!
if so thats a pretty cool idea!!

Yes, I believe that is how it works. Don’t quote me on that though :stuck_out_tongue: I haven’t played, I’m just assuming what’s most logical.

As far as I understood, Skins are tied to specific armour pieces, rather than you selecting between a marada of skins to use on the armour of your choosing.

Like the Prime-skin being tied specifically to the Prime-skinned Recruit/starter arour.

tha sounds alright actualy :stuck_out_tongue: so im assuming i can have multiple skins, like the forest on my body and helmet and the other one on my shoulders

Don’t assume anything, especially positive things!

oooffff…thats sucks. Oh well, guess i gotta deal with the CIO armor b/c of the web skin.

I believe the only skin that will work on more than the Armor Set pictured is the Forest Camo Armor Skin, its been said to also be usable on the Recruit Armor Set and Hazop Armor Set, whether thats true or not I’m not completely sure :/. But yes, the skins work on the individual Armor Set Pieces, In example you can as said choose the Prime Skin for the Recruit Armors shoulders or Helmet, and another Skin for the Chest piece of another Armor Set, same goes for legs, arms,.

That is my understanding atleast of how everything functions within the game, heres hoping we can actually choose the use of a Secondary color for the Undersuit instead. I would love to have Blue Armor, with a Silver Undersuit :O, not much for the Armor Skins tbh.

the forest skin in the PAX build was only for the GV-09 Locking arms and RG-63 Counter legs while the forest skin for the hazop helmet, torso, and shoulders is referred to as the alloy skin.

also the recruit gets the prime skin except for the legs which only have the tiger skin, while the RG-63 Counter legs i mentioned earlier have the prime skin. this seems to be because the recruit legs from the E3 build had there name changed to RG-63 for the PAX build.

the deadeye default helmet in the build looked the same as the daedeye helmet skin pre-order bonus, while the locus helmet default had a completely different pattern than the pre-order skin.

the bulletin from the week after PAX had a q&a section where someone asked if the armor in the PAX build was the full set they were told that it was the full set available in halo 4
however I not sure if the “full set of armor” includes all of the skins because it a single alternate skin per armor would mean that some people wouldn’t be able to unlock alternate an skin for their favorite armor for a long time. And there is still the possibility that the names of some of the armor and skins might have been changed back to what we were told since then. because I think they said that the build used at PAX already several months old at the time. here is the link to the bulletin https://forums.halo.xbox.com/yaf_postst111302_The-Halo-Bulletin--9-5-12.aspx

and here is the the link to the thread in this forum which contains screenshots of the armor from the PAX build. https://forums.halo.xbox.com/yaf_postst114669_Complete-Halo-4-Armor--FINAL.aspx
