Armour Restraint as a grenade.

Would anyone like the idea of an Armour restraint that can be thrown like a grenade (Not explode, it would have to hit the spartan like a plasma grenade) and when the player is hit he is locked into place for a limited time.

I’ve always been firmly against weapons and abilities that are used exclusively to handicap other players, rather than giving the user any form of edge.

So in short, you want the armor restraint to be used as a disruption weapon? Sounds really cumbersome to use.

How about as an ability then, like over shields or camo.

Bringing combat to a standstill in a first-person shooter sounds like a really, really bad idea.

Exactly! This is the fault of armor lock in Reach! Grenades, especially splinter grenades are designed to limit opponent options and stop them from going into certain areas, a thing designed to lock enemy players just blocks everything up. It takes strategy to use and get past grenades effectively. This idea would kill strategy and freeze up the game. It would also frustrate everyone to no end.

In custom games, I would see some merit to it, with its potential… But in matchmaking? No. Most people don’t like being halted from moving around.

No awful idea , that would annoy a lot of people during gameplay nearly as much as reading such a awful idea .

If something brings the game to a stop, then no. I would rather not have another version of Reach’s armor lock.

If you had to stick them with it and it didn’t last but idk maybe a full second, it could be an interesting idea
