I haven’t been able to find anything when i’ve been searching for this but I just wanted to know if anyone has the answer to this question. Will we be able to use armour pieces from olden gen/mark armour with the new armour cores? So for example, if I wanted to have my favourite helm, CQB, with the new Mark VII armour core or will I be restricted to the Mark V Reach armour core? Same goes for any other armour piece. Are they interchangeable with each core? I just haven’t been able to find a clear cut answer for this so if anyone does have an answer that would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t think there is a clear cut answer to this question. I can only assume that armors pieces won’t be allowed to mix and match with different cores.

That would be a shame. I was under the impression an “armor core” was another way of saying a full set of the armor and not like… armor that cant be edited slightly.
I really like the shoulder pads for example but the chest looks a bit bulky to me, I wouldnt use it.
or is “armor core” just like…: a way of reffering to core armor peices like shoulders, chest, helmet et cetera? And not to things like visors, colour, bodysuits and misc customisation? Idk.
If armor cores is a fixed set that cant be edited that would really suck imo. Especially since they otherwise got rid of the Halo 5 esque customisation which was so unbelievably limited.
I really doubt the armor wouldnt be customisable to every degree though since customisation is such a big thing they’re talking about with Infinite and they really learned the lessons of Halo 5s mistakes in that regard.

Yeah this is kind of my worst “fear” for the customization tbh,
This will cause such drama it will equate to 343 shooting themselves in the foot (again)

Honestly would be a huge shame if they essentially went back to limiting the way we can create our spartans, and especially with how bad Halo 5’s customization was received it would be a huuuge set back.

From what I’ve seen and read we will have customisation similar to Halo Reach. However, with the armour coatings having promotional sets I think some might be locked in. Truth is we need more info and this is the one thing they have not fully explained, they need to imo.

In the trailers and screenshots it looks like the armor core consists of the torso, undersuit, arms, and legs. That leaves the helm, shoulders, knees, visor, chest accessory, and gloves to customize.
I’m hoping that we can mixmatch different gens with others because I don’t like the Reach undersuit, but like the armor pieces. Unfortunately, I’ve only seen Reach pieces on the Reach armor core, and vice versa with the new MkVII. Hopefully they’ll clarify soon.
It’s also worth noting that the Yoroi ‘Samurai’ armour is actually it’s own ‘Yoroi Amour Core’, which means it may not be compatible with the other armour pieces if the limitations people have mentioned above are correct.
It would be rather disappointing if we can’t mix and match some armour as a result of these ‘Cores’, which is what it is looking like right now. The only way to know for sure is :
343 tells us - we go back to the multiplayer trailer and the overview and scrutinise every single Spartan featured therein, then figure every out the name of every single armour piece and which core they belong to, then check if any of the Spartans have mixed armour I have to wonder, if it does turn out that it limits the freedom to mix and match, why did they choose to include such a ‘feature’? What could the reasoning have been behind “let’s expand the customisation but also put a restriction on which pieces can be mixed”?

So they can sell us a Core Adapter on the store for only $20 of course
