so recently i have been seeing images pop up of Spartans with Reach style armour. so i was wondering if all Spartans would be designed this way. However, we have been shown to have the master chief back in the “ICONIC” armour. I’m just confused.
The positive reception of Halo Wars 2’s return to a more classic art style (with a few elements of the new) and the Infinite Trailer make it seem as if we will be returning to a more classic Bungie-ish look (ala Halo 3 or H2A) but likely still with some elements of 343’s style (the marines in the trailer have the new Battle Rifle for example). Although nothing is truly confirmed for infinite, we might be seeing 343 take a step or two back from their style.
If you are seeing Spartans specifically with Reach armor, that might be due to the hype of Halo: Reach joining the Master Chief Collection and the MCC coming to PC. There is a lot of hype about Halo: Reach’s customization and armor style (for good reason imo) and it will feature its ever popular mix and match customization in the MCC.
My opinion: as long as Halo Infinite doesn’t have ugly awful helmets like Infiltrator, Seeker, etc. then I’ll be happy no matter what the overall art style is like.
Would prefer less new armor (maybe even none). Keep the existing stuff from 4 and 5, edit them for improvement. Hopefully customization isn’t just pouches and armor add-ons, but rather something where you can replace armor, like 3 and 4.
Please. less hexagons. Sure it was a unique design, But it’s been overused in way too many areas and IMO unappealing.
I can’t really see a spartan being covered in a bubble wrap design.
The origin of the honeycomb or hexagon pattern was that it’s supposed to be the strongest design from a weight point of view, such as having a hollow structure with hexagonal pillars. It doesn’t make sense with most of its application in Halo 4-5 and dare I say it, Halo wars 2 aswell. Luckily halo wars 2 was barely noticeable because the armour colours blend so well together.

For what it’s worth the trailer looked good to me, we’ll have to see for the whole game though.
