So i was just wondering if anybody else would like to see this so basically your armor gets damaged until you die so your visor can get cracked/smashed your armor can get bullet holes in it ect ect just wanted to know what people thought?
EDIT: Just to clarify im not saying a bullet from a pistol will punch a hole in your armor from one shot im thinking more of if your on a killing spree or something and you have been in a few battles and dents and scrapes start to appear.
It’d be cool if the longer you’ve played the game entirely, the more wear and tear your armor would show. Say your just a recruit, brand new armor. Say you’re a general, there is a lot of scratches, dirt, and cracks in the armor.
Yes, but all we know that it will never happen…
It’d be realistic and pretty cool. But it’d be annoying to play with that on your visor.
There are three different ways this can be implemented.
-
The player’s armor’s damage resets after death/respawn.
-
The player’s armor’s damage resets after the match/game ends.
-
The player’s armor’s damage increases as you reach higher ranks.
I personally prefer option 2.
I believe option 3 should be implemented as an armor customization option.
EDIT:
OP, post these three options on your OP.
Just the paint (the armor is made out of titanium) but really I don’t want my spartan’s paint to disappear because I’l be playing this forever

I agree i would love to have the option of having damaged armor or a nice clean suit of armor over time.
It would be cool as a skull in campaign or something, but not really in multiplayer.
It would be alright if it was only visual, for example if someone else looks at you they see a cracked visor but it doesn’t affect you.
Yeah that’s what i was thinking just a visual thing that doesn’t actually effect gameplay.
Aesthetic bullet holes I’m fine with. But damaged visors would obstruct your vision, punishing you for survival, which is counter productive. Furthermore I feel that their’s much more 343 needs to focus on before they can even consider something like this, especially since it would barely be noticeable.

This sounds awesome. It should be one of the customizable options.

You can’t damage armor in virtual reality.

that would be so cool,…and maybe even the more you play the more wornout itgets like you said and if you want to you can choose to replace it with spartan points, i wouldnt want to but it would be a cool option
That could be tough to pull off on 343’s part, but I’d really like to see it. If somebody’s eating bullets, and on a really high streak of kills, they have bullet holes, scratches, and pieces of metal dangling off their visor. That would be really cool.
Maybe as a optional feature in some gametypes; such as infection or machinima (new) etc
This idea just made me smile.
Looked something like this.

This idea would be pretty cool. But we all know it won’t happen. The games close to being completed and released this year. But hey…there’s always Halo 5 in a couple of year’s!They should take example of these ideas for the next game. This idea would be so brilliant and creative.I was thinking if you get more and more damaged up,wouldn’t it be cool to use some of your experience to pay for your repairs?something like “100 credits:Armor repair”.But then people wouldn’t want to,because the damage looks too cool. And some people would want to,to go through the cycle of having new armour and watching it get damaged all over again. Many possibilities…lol
