Since we have been told that Halo 5 will not have Armour Customization as detailed as Reach’s (So no Helmet attachments and such) then does that mean we are able to at least chance our shoulders, body and helmets (I am excluding visors because we already know we can change that). In the Beta and the leaked Halo 5 development footage I only saw a Helmet and Body option for the Spartan. I would be very upset if they didn’t allow us to at least be able to change our shoulder pieces, after all each player wants to feel different from the next. In previous games everyone looked (Most of the time) unique. I don’t fancy bumping into my Spartan 4 doppelgänger while playing Arena.
But if what I said is true regarding the lack of Armor customization then we should atleast expect a whole bunch of armour. Some of the armour I have seen for the game thus far is amazing (Helioskrill, Helljumper and Athlon being some to name). I really want to see more helmets like this. I would even be happy if they ported over a bunch of the Halo 4 armour (Even the armour that was less popular among fans), you guys and gals may be asking why? Well my reason is very patriotic… Freedom. It’s nice to have a large amount of options. Another thing I am quite happy about is that in Halo 5 we essentially have 3 versions of the ODST armour (Kinda), Helljumper (What Buck wears), Nightfall (Seen in Halo Nightfall) and Air Assault (An air adaptation of ODST). If they could include Halo 4’s version of ODST along with this I would be extremely happy. When it comes to Halo Armour pieces should never be removed, more should be added to the mix (unless its completely lore breaking).
Now because 343 has said we would be getting more Armour through DLC would this mean we would have to buy it? As many of you will be aware they plan to release many additional map packs for free to keep the fan base connected, so this brings up the question of whether people with the dollar or gonna be getting those shiny new helmets or not. I honestly wouldn’t mind themed Armour packs such as a Mark 5 pack were we receive Mark 5 variants of some of the armour pieces such as Mark 5 Scout, Mark 5 Air Assault, MJOLNIR Mark 5 etc. This would give people they chance to recreate characters from past games that they couldn’t necessarily recreate with the current Spartan armour. I would happily buy packs such as these because from past experience 343 made some awesome DLC armour in Halo 4.
Anyway these are just my opinions, as we know 343 has been very open to suggestions and criticisms with this game so far so I hope I’m not sounding crazy.
P.S Bring back the Falcon please…
It is confirmed that Armor Customization is reduced to complete Armor Sets, that means only Helmet, Visor & Body.
All I need is a LASO skull helmet and I won’t complain about the reduction of pieces
I do not want the Halo 4 ODST armor. It was horrid.
Also the Air Assault armor may look like ODST armor but the description says it’s used by the UNSC Army. So I really only see it as 2 armors inspired by ODST armor. I like the idea of Req packs with special armor pieces, I would really like to recreate Noble Six, SPI armor would be cool too.

Nah man, wall of texts are always hard to read. OP, paragraphs are your friends.
But on a more related note, I agree that there should be more customizations. I would also rather they return the ability to at least customize our arms and shoulders separately from the body.
How I see it more doesn’t always equal better, but in the case of armour pieces and customization I think it does.
So what exactly should they bring back to satisfy our desire for customization? What missing pieces are most important? The only thing I can think of is the armor around our legs.

I would atleast like to have Halo 3 versatility when it comes to armour customization (So Helmet, Shoulders, Body). At this moment we only have Body and Helmet (Not including the visor which is changeable)

Agreed, I’d like at least shoulders, body, helm, visor. If not, oh well. The way it was pieced together didn’t look bad, ever wear scout helm, centurion body, frost visor? Also the soldier body didn’t look bad, I liked the pouches on the sides.,
