Every time I have leveled up since SR58 It shows that I have unlocked certain armour and helmets and then I can’t see or access them afterwards. Anyone else getting this?
“Unlocked,” or given notice of? Most armor unlocks appear on your unlock list as locked items well in advance of you being able to unlock them, showing you the requirement to unlock. Once you’ve met that requirement, they’re just unlocked. Nothing new appears in your inventory. I think when you go through specializations, you’re shown your first armor set for the specialization, which you then unlock, and then you are shown the skinned version, which you then unlock. At SR-58, I believe all you’re waiting on is the second helmet skin for that specialization, which should unlock at level 9 (one level to go).

It doesn’t take skill in Halo 4… just commendation grinding. Which I hate. If I want to unlock a helmet I really want, I get forced to play a mode I don’t like to accumulate a stat which doesn’t depend on my personal performance, for an extreme length of time. That, or never unlock the helmet.
