Armors Unlocked Via Weekly/Monthly Challenges

What if there was a set, or a couple sets of armor out there that you could only acquire be keeping an eye on the weekly, monthly, or even daily challenges? Allow people to feel like they really worked for that piece, or set of armor. It would make the armor feel more special, especially when other players were waiting for the armor to come back into a challenge rotation.

The armor wouldn’t even necessarily need to be tied to a specific challenge, but be a potential reward that 343 could apply to help keep people looking to the challenges!

Perhaps. It could be like a more rewarding version of Reach’s challenges system.

This would just require quite a bit of work on 343i’s part. As nice of an idea as this may be, the amount of work required to make this, or to withhold the already made armors to do this, would just infuriate the people who play a lot. They would easily play enough in the first week/month to acquire a majority of the armors, yet with your way they would have to wait months upon months to be able to scrape up a bit of what they want.
Now don’t get me wrong, if they had a sort of ‘yearly’ thing, where if you followed goals and stuff, for a year, and at the end you received something that NO ONE had unless they went through that, cool. But to have a separate one every month, or every week, would either cut into what they already have made, or would make them make too much, and lose out on other content in the future, like maps, and such due to manpower.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying all or many suits should be withheld for this. I more mean a total of perhaps 1-3 sets of armor that could be applied as weekly, or monthly rewards for challenges. I don’t want to mess with someone’s favored suit of armor, and make them jump for it, but think of a new suit of armor that we treated the Raider variant of armor from Halo 4, or a much easier version of a Vidmaster armor set (keeping in mind I would love for an actual set of Vidmaster to get an amazing suit of armor).

Perhaps you could even have it be like a variant skin of a suit of armor you already have. For example, say you get Recruit armor, but in the weekly challenges, you might be able to get Recruit with a camo paintjob to it as your reward for say “Headshotting 300 grunts in a week”. Just as an example.

LIke I said, I see your point, and it could work, but only if they have the manpower to do it. They still have to make it, render it, and in case something significant happens, it would just create such chaos. Plus the creating the scripts to maintain the counts or achievements necessary to get the armor, etc. Idk, I’m just looking at this as such a chore for what they already have in store. Maybe in Halo 6, it’s just too close to release for all of this in my opinion.

This is coming from an article that was made on the 16th of this month. Another reason I am trying to throw all these ideas out now, and that are easier to apply.

The chances are quite slim that they will be able to add anything. Yes, it may not be gold yet, but the projected release date is dependant upon if they keep at the present pace. If you go adding the changes you’re suggesting, it would add significant delays in the projected release date. I would almost bet that it will be completely done aside from bug testing by E3. But that’s just my assumption.

Better to try and add, then never to try at all. Besides, best case scenario they see all my ideas and in Halo 6, they make a statute of me, hand raised with keyboard in clenched in my fists! >:D

No thank you

It’s a good idea, but I think it should be for something less significant that armour

I say exclusive skins that you can only earn one week every year. That way people wont be complaining that there’s armor they cant unlock, but it gives challenge winners exclusivity. Perhaps maybe some skins would never return, as per special occasion.
