Armor Upgrades. Replacement for AA's and Equipment Alike?

Ok Its obvious Cortana has been missing around with Chiefs armor.
Weather this is helpful or not is unknown But I know I want my spartan to be prepared.
So in a game where survival seems to be are goal We need it.

How it would work
In MM there would be a hole in a wall or some form of box that when you put your hand in it it places a watch like thing on your wrist giving you a ability that helps on the map or in battle. Unlike equipment it last longer then one use but unlike AA’s you don’t start with them (unless on a serton playlist or customs).

Heres some examples how it would work (Just say but you can’t have more then 1 on at once)

Clip Hook: On some maps there would be ziplines making it faster to travel from point A to Point B. Because sliding down a rope or vine or something is not exactly safe you half to sorta just climb down it at a slow pace making you a easy target. With this you can just swing it on and slide down at a fast paste. I know it seems wierd for there to be ziplines but its unlikly we will see many gravlifts.

H.V.C.: Heat vision control is a usefull sniping tool as it lets you see things a normal eye might not.

WiFi Hack: See on some maps there would be a computer that would open a door or activate some sort elevator But using it takes some time and you could be seen and killed. With this you can do it from long range and can hide while you try and open that door to help your team out.

Wall camera:A Small Wall gripping camera that can be placed to help you watch your back. See when placing it you get a camera in the side of your screen (like ghost recon) letting you see what the camera sees. Sadly it blows up when you die and can be broken with a simple melee. (you get a max of 3)

These are just things that could be done with this and I think would make the game far more fair then AA’s and Equipment could.

IMO no. This sounds like some wierd hybrid of rainbow six vegas’s gadgets and brinks loadouts. Equipment is the only truly limitless pickup, they can be thrown, deployed or administered to yourself. Something attatched to your armour can’t do that. Besides that heat vision would piss me off no end.

All that stuff is detrimental to the gameplay.

It will slow it down to a crawl.

they don’t change battle in any way besides helping out a little.
and Why would we have mancannons in a no covie game?

No covie=unconfirmed

How about just a 3SK pistol and call it it day. Much more useful.

Bubble shield
Trip mine
Grav lift
Power drain
Regenerator
Radar jammer
Active camo
Jet booster
Flare
Radar scanner
Decoy

All of these would be one use map pickups :stuck_out_tongue:

For the game I’m currently developing we’re using a system whereby to use any ability you have to stow your weapon, even jetpacking

our abilities are: Katana
EMP grenade launcher
smoke grenade launcher
thruster pack
vault lift
shield barrier
And I think there was one more but I can’t remember :stuck_out_tongue:

however, it takes time to get the ability out and put it away again, so it can’t be snap to spammed.

I think you are getting away from what halo multiplayer is supposed to be. Things like that will turn the game into the same old garbage that every other game has turned into. The thing that is different about halo is that everyone at the start of the match should be EQUAL. Thats why alot of people have issues with AAs. Every halo to date besides Reach has had you starting with the same loadouts. The things you mentioned would decrease skill gap and promote abuse of your “power ups”.

No, No, No…you’ve got it all wrong.

Predetermining your armor setup before a match is counter intuitive to the fundamentals which halo was founded on. And that is, that every player starts the match with the exact same options available as the next. When you predetermine what ‘Armor effects’ you have BEFORE the match, them you’ll have instances where you’re WISHING you had picked something else, and you’ll be locked into a match with the crappy loadout you feel stuck with.

IMO this is even worse then bungies implementation of AAs. We don’t need this non-sence in halo. We need balanced, fun.

I say revamp the equipment and have everyone start of EQUAL. Have powerups and equipment placed WITHIN the map for pickup, that way the maps are more dynamic. There are more things to control on the map, and it makes the battles more interesting without ‘Tieing a player’ down to a preset loadout

now what do you guys think
