I know the helioskrill is unlockable, curious if any others are available, such as maybe Bucks or Fred’s helmet?
I think Mark VI and Mark VI scarred are the only others you can obtain by unlocking achievements. Nearly everything else has to be unlocked by opening REQ packs.
As far as I can tell Buck’s and Fred’s helmets are legendary/mythic, and only unlockable through the REQ system.
Personally I think it would be nice if every achievement unlocked something. Be it big or small.

Like in Halo 3 where cosmetics were unlocked when you earned specific achievements.

Exactly! Hmmmmmm, Hayabusa Armour
I’d like it taken even further though with every in game activity rewarding the player in some way, even if its just a colour or an emblem. Got that achievement, here’s a helmet. Got 50 kills in Arena, here’s a cool colour. Played for 25 hours, a new nametag. Basically, if you’re playing Halo, no matter what mode or game type, you’re working towards something

I can get behind that idea. The Master Chief Collection has something like that already with the nameplates, emblems, and avatars, so it would be interesting for them to keep that idea and take it further to things such as weapon skins and unique visors (search Sharkface, Red vs. Blue, and you will see what I mean).

I’ll check it out now mate! I think it’s important these days to reward players and most importantly to make people feel like they are spending their time well. Older gamers like myself are generally happy to play a game simply because we find it fun but younger gamers, bred on Fortnite etc need shiny things to keep them playing. Plus, you know, we all like getting given shiny things

Yes, we do
I feel that there should be an incentive for people to continue playing video games. The previous Halo games, with the exception of Halo Wars, are good examples of not really having incentive to play beyond a certain rank… unless you really like the games, of course. My point being is that, unless I am very much mistaken, there really is no point sticking to the grind that is the top rank because you either don’t get anything for it or nothing to work towards in-between other than the satisfaction of getting there.
Now, I admit that that alone is incentive for some players, as everybody has different motivations, but nobody can pretend that Bungie didn’t drop the ball when it came to the Halo: Reach ranks beyond Nova. All of those credits gained and nothing to spend them on until you reach Inheritor.
Absolutely. Now, I’m about to say something deeply controversial. Fortnite does it right. Woah woah woah, calm down. I know. But hear me out. The Battle Pass system that game has (and lots of others now) is fantastic I think. It creates an environment where you are constantly earning something. I don’t believe for a second that Halo should have a Battle Pass and quite honestly I feel sick for typing them both in the same sentence BUT…a constant trickle of rewards would be amazing.

I admit I know next to nothing about Fortnite other than the fact that it is a Battle Royale game, lol, so I cannot comment on whether Halo should have a battle pass or not; however, I am open to the idea of a constant trickle of rewards. Something as simple as logging on every day like Halo 5: Guardians does or finding some hidden datapads throughout the multiplayer maps like the hidden soda cans in the Halo 2: Anniversary maps. Once a month add something new to the maps to find. Not only would the rotation keep the maps fresh and keep people coming back to the game but it would also please those that like their timed rare cosmetics.

There are any number of things they could do with regards to this. Lets hope that at least some of them make it into the game. At the end of the day though, I’ll be playing it religiously, rewarded or otherwise
Was just curious, feel like they isnt much of a gain from levelling up,achievements etc.I mean,we dont even have proper ranks like in reach, just some numbers that give no satisfaction

Never even mind,if I’m correct doing a legendary run on some halos got you some stuff,I’d need some seriously good stuff to go back and play as Locke the emotionless sock again, that’s 4 sure
I would love to have helmets from older games, like the Scout or Recon helmet to be unlockable because you got the achievement from MCC
