armor that actually affects gameplay

Halo 4’s armor should slightly affect gameplay, multiplayer and campaign.

there can be armor thats lighter, therefore making your base speed a bit faster, but at the cost of less damage resistance.

or, there can be extremely heavy and hearty armor that gives you more damage resistance, but slows you down a bit.

or, there can be a mix of both.

i think this is a great idea. share your thoughts.

This has been asked for so many times but it will never happen…

Okay.

lol agreed ^ pretty much my reactions

So you want perks, basically.

Um… no… Plain and simple.

Armor abilities I’m okay with, but not when your armor gives you additional benefits.

Ω

The point of Halo has always been that everyone is on equal footing. Armor is purely cosmetic, hit boxes are the same, etc. Making different armor do different things is against the grain of what Halo “is” so I definitely don’t agree with this either. (Case in point? Look at AA’s and how well people received those.)

> So you want perks, basically.

perks? i dont know what you mean by this.

but no, i just want a slightly more realistic and immersive experience. nothing that dramatically changes gameplay, but just changes things by like 5%.

eg: Full Recon: 5% faster, but 5% less protection

Full Grenadier: 5% more protection, but 5% less speed.

i really dont see why not. it encourages individual playing styles.

Look at the TU playlist and every Anniversary playlist. Combined, they’re at slightly over half the population of the bloom-and-AA-filled Team Slayer alone.

Just saying, all this hate for change on the forums doesn’t mean everybody hates them.

Yes… these are what perks are about.

Basically, the problem with your system is that it leads to rock-paper-scissors gameplay.

Go play COD and BF.

As Snickerdoodle said, this kind of thing has happened before but in the shape of Armor Abilities. I don’t mean to say everyone who likes them is unimportant, but at the end of the day they are a minority.

Basically if this happened 343 would be burned down.

Don’t get me wrong - I love Vanilla Reach as it is, I personally have no issue with the AA’s. But I also LOVE the Anniversary playlist and appreciate the even footing across the board.

Exactly my thoughts. Why can’t there be people who like and enjoy both?

However on the topic, it’s not a terrible idea, but I don’t think it will ever be implemented in a Halo game.

I love you…So much!

Scroll down to “Armor Augmentations”. I don’t know why people automatically assume that attribute modifying armor has to be spawned with.

Good idea, but only in campaign if this were to work. This idea, would be terrible in MM unless they balanced EVERYTHING and nothing was over-powered.

I see what you’re trying to say, but I must disagree. I like the balanced form of gameplay the previous Halo games have offered.

Hey guys long time reader first time poster. I dont want to get shot down first post but here goes, For Match making games why not have Armour ablilities unlocked after a certain amount of kills (Kill streak), i know this sounds alot like COD but hear me out. Double Kill = Sprint, Triple kill = whatever and so on and so forth. What are your thoughts ?
