so ive heard that, in halo 4, different armor pieces will have different effects. this is all fine and dandy but:
will i have to make an ugly spartan just to get the buffs i want?
tell me im not the only one thinking about this XD
it would be cool if you unlocked the EFFECTS that the armor gave you AND the armor pieces themselves. this way you could use the armor that you actually like with the effects that you wanted. cool looking spartan AND the desired buffs.
sure beats using the propane tank chestplate just because it gives 5% more damage, or whatever.
Good point… I guess the best way to fix this is to have multiple customization options for each buff.
For example, one modification lets you knock back enemies when meleeing (FOR EXAMPLE). Default appearance is more armor on your fists. Think it’s ugly? Never mind, just use it more and you unlock more options for how the mod should look.

I disagree… eventually i will learn to recognize the armor and associate the buffs, and fighting styles, to properly size up my targets. If everyone is running around in the same armor because it (looks cool) then i can’t do that. And i am bored with everyone looking the same.

Hmm. Good point.
There will be more than one mod slot right? How about this: there will be one mod that allows you to wear any armor piece you want, regardless of the other mods you have. The purpose of this is twofold: one, you can look as cool as you want. Two, you confuse people who are used to figuring out what mods people use via the appearance of the armor.
The drawback will be the cost of one modification slot.
I’m fairly certain the aesthetic armor (like in Reach) and the armor upgrades are different things.
For example, you customize your spartan’s appearance in one place, then create your loadout, where you choose your weapon, armor upgrade, and armor ability, in another.
