This is the only thing so far that has rustled my jimmies. Why tantalize us with thoughts of so much customization only to shoot it down with limiting these possibilities? I mean they had to have thought of making all skins compatible with all armors, so why did they not do it?
I really have no idea why skins would be limited to one armour set, it makes the pre-order bonuses almost useless to get. For example, we have the forest camo skin for HAZOP. If the player doesn’t use any HAZOP armour pieces, then the pre-order bonus is useless to him/her. And would a player use the forest camo only on his arms? Or legs? No, of course not, that would look silly.
However, armour patterns are a nice addition that we’re getting, so I’m not going to complain about having more options!
Certain skins were designed with an armor set in mind. It wouldn’t make sense to have the Raptor skin on the Recruit helmet. The lines just wouldn’t match up.

Actually the raptor armor skin is just a bunch of lines and shapes. They would really fit any armor since they barely fit Venator. Camo would be easy to apply to any armor. So why?

No they wouldn’t line up with other armors. It’s fine that they are created for specific armors. It’s like asking to be able to put the EVA visor on the Recon helmet. It just doesn’t fit/look right.

Maybe things like the Forest Camo would fit on any armor, but a lot of the other skins just wouldn’t suit, or physically fit on the other armors.
With Raptor, the lines of the skin match up with the Venator armor, it would look terrible on a more curvy set.
Honestly, I dont like how they are specific. As sitri said, I can understand that some armor would look off. But some shouldnt be restricted at all. Such as forest. A digital came should fit every armor style! But what makes it worse for me is that not all armor have skins, so you’re stuck with a single color for your armor.
Assuming that what Frankie says on the bulletin applies to everything.
The RAM/CPU/Buttspace hits just isn’t worth it to have multiple skins on multiple items. Much easier just to have one for each.
