Armor Shaders

I saw someone bring up the idea of purchasing extra armor and stuff to really customize their own Spartan and I got the idea that it would be cool to buy custom armor shaders like lightning or Lava or Digital. Is it a bad idea?

I’ve always wanted different patterns to choose on the armor I like, so I support this idea.

Sure, why not.

Of course, but no lava

IMO, if it went OTT like in CoD, where there are animated shaders, or ones that went overboard, I woulds hate it. However, if they were more subtle, and you could see a practical purpose to them, they might grow on me. I wouldn’t want a situation where all Armour became garish and comical, so things like Lava/lighting would probably put me off. Digital might work though, as long as it looked functional.

mmh, I would definetly hate that…

No outrageous things like lightning shooting across your armor or anything like that.
Some patterns would be fine, but I doubt that will ever be implemented.

So long as it would appear functional, sure. No CoD-style animations or novelty designs. 343 strayed dangerously close to that with the Steampunk gun skins in Halo 4. Camouflage patterns like digital, jungle, urban etc. would be pretty cool. I’d like to see more functional pieces of armour like Reach that have knives, camo netting, bullets etc. on them.

So sort of what they are doing with Halo Online armor? So long as it isn’t overboard and it’s just skins and not entirely new armor sets then I see no problem.

I would prefer more subtle and practical armor skins, than the bright and colorful ones.

as much as i would love this…remember its red vs blue regardless… but yea skins has my vote… not what they did with armor sets though

Worst idea ever, sounds like the call of duty magma and lightning weapon skins. Plus the multiplayer in this game is kind of part of the canon now as well (as shown by halo 4). So i’d vote no on this. The game is already plenty colorful as it is, now you guys want to make it look like a cartoony childrens game? save the over the top effects for sci fi universes like Warhammer 40k.

No. That might work for Destiny but I can’t see it ever working for Halo.

Summed up my thoughts perfectly.
This reminds me too much of armor effects which I absolutely hated. Let’s keep the spartans looking like spartans.

there is armor in that looks like it was pulled from mass effect… camo yes, hard light overlay no.

I do think it will be a great experience to have a better variability of completely customizing your spartan.
