Since Halo 4(and it still was not as bad as now) why is the armor so open. It’s not enough that the pieces look like they are just Velcro’d on bulky chunks of metal in some cases, but there is way to much exposed base layer that unless the permutation is overly bulky almost all look the same. The armor is all supposed to look and feel like a second skin, not a bolted on undersized skimpy lego brick. Also, some of the permutations, and helmets are the biggest offenders, look somewhat kiddish. Like they wanted to tone down how mean the look of it is. Im looking at you Noble, Foehammer, Helljumper, MKVI, MKV, MKIV and a couple of the Halo 4 helmets brought back namely Pathfinder and Pioneer.
The hexagon pattern on the Visor is cool, but in some cases just way to big compared to the size of the glass.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the new additions, but the way they look does not do them justice, or serve the look and lore of the Spartans themselves justice. Please 343, consider looking at Halo 3 and Halo Reach as reference as far as the Proportions of the armor, and the consistency is concerned. This is supposed to be Halo. Not some Anime influenced or cartoony Halo. Just Halo. New designs are great, but not when you make them look skimpy.
Last, please bring back real customization of our armor, and ID. Reach was the best at this. Head, shoulder, knees, legs, chest, and wrist, with specialty items, like a nav screen, or additional ammo/knife/grenades.
The Emblem system is horrific. Why do we have to unlock emblems? You pretty much ruined a staple of Character ID customization since Halo 2 by having us have to unlock emblems. You were able to update the color pallet, so please update this. IDK, maybe a REQ package to unlock ALL emblems, that are NOT exclusive to the Championship thing or anything like that.
These are all problems with consistency. Don’t sacrifice that in the name of artistic expression, or a different experience feature. Consistency is key, especially in a franchise which was and still is the benchmark of gaming, and in features and artistic designs used for the past 15 years. Not saying don’t progress the look, just don’t continue what has been done in 5.
