Armor Organization

So I’ve amassed a fair amount of helmets and armor and I have a bit of a complaint/ request (not about the armor itself, that stuff looks cool). I have enough armor that it’s really annoying when I’m customizing to have to scroll through tons of options just to find one set. So, 343: is there any that you can put in a system that organizes armor variants and skins by armor type or something along those lines? It’s just really annoying to me (and maybe to anyone else reading this post). Is it even possible to implement such a system? More importantly, does the community want it?

Woah! You mean that people actually don’t like having to scroll through tiny pics of armor that all look similar? OMG call 343 right now!

Seriously though, I feel your pain, their entire UI is screwed up. Have you seen the pictures of the UI from the Beta? It was so much better. If we have to have a bunch of dumb skins then why not organize them properly by name, and then have them grouped into sub-categories. So you scroll to Warrior, and then when you press A it opens a new list of all the different skins.

This is a beautiful idea

Yeah…Its a pain scrolling through 200 different sets

Its also annoying to sell reqs you don’t use…

The whole UI needs a rework…from what we are talking about now to pre game lobbies…

I usually just equip whatever I just got, and rock that armor until I unlock a new one. I’m not sorting through 200 armors when half of them the only difference is a dab of color on you right butt cheek.

Since this was a feature in all the other games, I have a feeling that it was more of an overlooked detail or just forgotten. Just put it in. They could probably fit something in one of the monthly updates. And while they’re at it, why not put in some feature showing what the most popular armors are or something like that. Make it fun.

Woah! You mean that a good video game designer doesn’t look at previous games to see what worked?

You might be able to tell I’m a very sarcastic person:) But yeah, how can you overlook something that has been in past games, both Halo and otherwise? It’s not too freaking hard! If they had a dozen armor sets total then this UI would work great, but they insist on putting in over 100 armor sets and skins in and then having a laggy and ridiculous UI.

I can’t count how man times I’ve said this.

No problem with the sarcasm at all. Have at it  The reason I say they may have forgotten or overlooked is that it was present in Halo 4, which they developed. It seems odd that they would purposely leave it out. One possibility I can think of is that Microsoft had them rush it out before they could put all the little finishing touches on or add more content. But yeah I see what you’re saying.
To be honest, I’m a bit surprised I haven’t seen this issue pop up before on the forums. I hope they see this and do something in a future update. And like I said, maybe add fun features like a ranking list of the most popular armor just to make it interesting.
By the way, you said your UI was laggy? Haven’t had that problem myself (actually this is really my only UI complaint, otherwise it’s fine for me). What’s up with it?

Well I daresay you’ve noticed the laggy Warzone REQ screen, sometimes to the point of it not loading so you’re stuck with the basics for a game. But I notice that when your lobby goes into the countdown your stuff sometimes disappears and you can no longer load REQs to look at. I guess its because the game is transferring them or something.

Almost like a former Halo creator already did this…oh wait, they did. Halo Reach continues to show why it has the BEST UI of any Halo game. Clean, simple, easy on the eyes. Not made of 100 different shades of blue with bright white font that are all CAPS ALL THE TIME.

343i’s UI has been complete -Yoink- since they took the reins. Remember nameplates in Halo 4? The Gamertags were literally sideways! WHO THOUGHT OF THAT.

Yeah, almost exactly like that right? How about that. Oh well, 343 knows best about how we want to play, hopefully one day they decide to create a UI that looks great and is functional.

It’s not so much for me that the UI isn’t functional (I have no lag issues or any other complaints), it’s just that the armor selection isn’t very streamlined like it used to be. Hopefully they can implement something in their monthly updates.

I wouldn’t say that the UI is screwed up. Its a decent UI but it could definitely be so much better.

I’m at that point where, honestly, I’m starting to think that the beta was better than the full release. At least multiplayer and UI-wise. I loved the Beta UI and RUL’s video on concept art for the menu made me rather pissed honestly.

I like it for one reason only, it means that noones armour collection is organized the same way most likely. Doesn’t really mean much though, as i normally go through the REQ collection to select armour because i know what im looking for.

Number one on everyones list should be ORGANIZATION!

I would prefer that they add more armor customization options before they get them organized. But I do think that they should have it better organized. Because having it in order of unlock starts to get annoying when you have more than 20 different armors and helmets.

I think that the organization is more important. If they add more customization options, we need to be able to find them easily. Either way, they don’t have more customization choices because of the sheer amount of armor and skins they’ve put in.

Great idea. We really need this sorting and I like the popular armors idea too. I hate having to move through all of those options. It should be like reach where you see one type and then once you click on it will open up the other options for that armor type.
