Would it be a better idea to do armor mods instead of loadout systems in future titles?
Many people are aggervated with the loadout system and feel it promotes unfair gameplay. Yet their are some people who like this new feature and feel it is necessary and beneficial to their own individual experience.
I’d like to propose we try armor mods. This would get rid of the loadout system entirely and replace them with two or three interchangable perks. These perks could be changed after every game, not during a game.
The perks would also be subtile changes (better active camo, dexterity, radar while scoped in)
nothing too major (more ammo for all weapons, infi-sprint, etc)
It would be a big step in getting rid of the loadout system and unbalanced weaponry, while still giving people their unique experience.
Hmmm, armour that made a subtly difference is an interesting idea. An idea that was tossed around a few times back in the days of H4 speculation.
I think it could work, and I like the idea of armour being more than cosmetic. However, it would be a step down from what we’ve been given, so will it bode well for the majority of consumers?

I think that sometimes you have to take it a step back when it becomes as chaotic as halo 4 has been. Going from a population of over 400k now down to a mere 25k definately means something is wrong with this game.
I feel that some of these new ideas need to be retracted to increase the overall profit of future games. Halo caders to the conservative gamer.
Ever heard of the 2nd law of thermodynamics? Things only become more chaotic and disorderly. I feel that taking away a few things might set things back into order

Interesting.
I definantly think that they could take a step back and disguise this using a “NEW EXCITING ARMOUR SYSTEM”, where by it is no longer cosmetic.
Its an exciting idea that appeals to the Halo fan in me, so it would be a good way to mask what they are actually doing.
I thinks some of the new features added are absolutely unnecessary and absolutely added to the decline in population: Ordinance, Loadouts, and the one I despise the most, JiP system.
However, I also think that we must not forget that there are other things that have added to the decline of the population, out of 343’s control. This includes increased competition from competiting franchises, that just simply wasn’t really there during Halo 3. As well as a natural loss of interest due to it being the 8th installment (signals an ageing franchise) as well as the orginal consumer base growing up or out of it.
Sorry, went off topic there.
OT: Armour mods = Yes.
No thank you.
I choose my armour based on my personal preference, not because it does something for me.
If you would give each armour set a particular ability, you would make everyone look the same and artificially increase the popularity of certain pieces.
If you would unlock them via ‘Mastering’ a piece or set of armour, why not simply do it as it is now? Or some other arbitrary way?
