I have noticed that people haven’t really being using Armor Mods in Warzone. Armor Mods can change the tide of the battle. So I making a post to let people know how I use them. Guide: Warzone WZ, Warzone Assault WZA, Warzone Firefight WZFF.
Advanced Sensors: “Motion Tracker is now compatible with Smart-Link, and both range and sensitivity is enhanced. In addition, you are harder to detect on enemy Motion Trackers”. In WZ and WZA I will use this if the other team is using active camo. Or if I want to use active camo. I will also use it when I am being long range support using BR, DMR, snipers this makes it so I can see enemies trying to get me from behind. In WZFF if I am near a REQ station I will use quite a bit. It allows me to see when enemies get close so I don’t surprised and killed while I am smart-linked. In WZ it helps detect those who are crouch walking.
Auto-Medic: “Increased shield recharge rate and health recovery”. In all WZ I will use this to defend bases or assault them. In WZFF I will use this when I don’t have enough REQs to get power weapons or vehicles and there is a boss. It allows me to taunt the boss so he will focus on me and turn his back on my allies. Once my shields go down, I take cover my shields and any health I lost recover pretty fast. Then I am back to taunting the boss.
Death From Above: “Upgraded stabilizers with increased hang time and full stall. In addition, the Ground Pound attack charges faster and has increased damage, knockback, and launch speed.” I don’t use this one because I am not good with the ground pound. However in all WZ I have used it to stay in the air while smart linked to get hits on enemy units.
Upgraded Shields: “Increased shield strength.” In all WZ I use this when I going grunt. Just running around killing. If you don’t have Auto-Medic use this to assault bases or hold bases. It is also useful when there are snipers you can survive a hit to the head, you’ll only have a small amount of health left so get to cover.
Frag Grenade Expert: “Start play with 3 Frag Grenades. Your maximum Frag Grenade capacity is increased.” In WZ and WZA I will use this if I notice the enemy is always in pairs. A well placed grenade can do a lot of damage. If their tactics change so does my armor mod. I don’t tend to use in WZFF. I rather use Patrol Case mod. I have used to clear out a armory and then I switch to another mod once I am inside the armory.
Grenadier: “All of your grenades are extra-powerful. As a safety precaution, you also take reduced damage from grenade explosions.” In WZA and WZ I will use this when I am on base defense and the enemy is throwing grenades after grenades. In WZFF I will use it if I know I can clear out the armory and get to the REQ station to get another Armor Mod.
Reflex Enhancers: “Increased weapon handling speed and you can reload while sprinting.” In all WZ I will use this like the upgraded shields. Or I will use in hit and runs attacks. I have also used this in WZFF when I am defending a base from Prometheans. It helps when I got a lot of crawlers and soldiers coming, I can shoot a lot of rounds off and reload quickly. Allowing me to shot the enemy with little delay.
Splinter Grenade: “Start play with an additional Splinter Grenade. Your maximum Splinter Grenade capacity is increased.” I will use this in all WZ as access denied tactics. In WZ and WZA if the enemy is using a lot of vehicles. If you throw the grenade right it will EMP the vehicle allowing you to board and place a grenade. In WZFF I mainly use it for access denied for defending bases.
Wheelman: “Any vehicle you are seated in quickly recovers from EMP effects and has increased damage resistance. Damage resistance stacks for each passenger using Wheelman.” I will use this in all WZ when I am getting in vehicle doesn’t matter if I am driving or riding. A hog with three Spartan with this armor mod is awesome. ONI, Ultras and Temple vehicles are awesome when you do this. Just be careful, your vehicle has improved damage resistance but Spartans do not. Be smart if you are driving, retreat when you or your fellow Spartans shields go out.
Patrol Case: “You carry additional ready and reserve ammo for all loadout weapons. Requisition weapons have increased ammo reserves if you equip the same weapon twice.” I use this in all WZ. A BR with 108 will now have 216. I will use this when I am doing harassing tactics. In WZ attacking the core. In WZFF I tend to use in crunch times when I don’t have any REQ points and we have to get rid of a boss in less than a minute and half. If I am lucky and have REQ 5 during kill so many enemies I will use it as well.
Plasma Grenade Expert: “Start play with an additional Plasma Grenade. Your maximum Plasma Grenade capacity is increased.” I only use this in WZFF when I am going against Covenant.
Speed Booster: “Increased movement speed and jump height.” Don’t have this one. But When I do I will use it in all WZ. It will play into my hit and run tactic. It will also serve in WZFF as a quick access when I know I will have to do hit and run and get more ammo quickly.
Upgraded Thrusters: “Reduced cooldown on thruster evade. Faster sprint and can recharge shields when running.” In all WZ. I use this when I need to defend the Garage or Fortress. I can get to the objective faster and still run about or do a quick retreat and not have to worry about stopping to recharge me shields.
Increased Strength: “Extra melee and Spartan Charge damage. Your Spartan Charge has extra range.” In all WZ. I will use this when I use any loadouts with the Energy Bayonet or Knight Blade. Though I mainly use it in WZFF, it helps take down those Elites and Promethean Soldiers fast. Now I do use Bayonet more than Knight Blade, because the Knight Blade is mainly used against vehicles and the Bayonet gives an extended range to melee. I do use the Knight Blade the Knight Blade in WZ and WZFF against enemy AI vehicles. In WZ if in a coordinate attacks against tanks I will use it.
PS. I will continue to update this, if I remember things I leave out.
Great list man, Wheelman is my personal favorite for WZFF as I’m almost always in a vechile. I never really thought about the strategy for some of the others.
Only 2 things that I see that I object to, advanced sensors can’t pick up people who are hidden by active camo and using a bayonet/knight blade with increased strength is pretty redundant, even if someone has upgraded shields you can easily finish off that sliver of health they’re left with. I also wouldn’t even bother using the knight blade in the first place, that thing has very little practical use.

Sorry I didn’t finish the Strength deal. I have edited but I mainly use that in WZFF because of the Elites and Prometheans. The reason I use it in WZ is again because of the Elites and Prometheans. For WZ I will use when I notice someone is using overshield.
I use the increased strength MOD late in warzone and firefight but not assault, it helps my energy bayonet one hit those upgraded shield users. and it works rather well if you have a knight blade and hit a vehicle.

In WZA I use it because the enemy tends to use more vehicles late in the game. WZ and WZFF I use it for the vehicles as well.
Hmmm you gave me ideas now. Speed booster is like having halo 3 hops
great list, thanks.

It’s actually a pretty good increase in height, I Jack warthogs like that. The jump is high enough to land safely on top and get in passenger seat. And maybe if you can time it, hijack a ghost running towards you.
I use advanced sensors to completely stay off enemy radars.
Use a silencer on your gun and don’t sprint.
Now you are totally off the radar and can infiltrate bases easy.
As well as pick up some easy assassinations on people using nornfangs.
Upgraded thrusters for all around gameplay.
Wheelman for all vehicular play.
Doesn’t matter to me what mods the enemy uses. It’s always Advanced Sensors for me, coupled with silenced weapons. Always amazes me just how much players panic when they come under fire from an attacker that isn’t on the mini-map.

Yes it is funny. The silencer weapons are also good in Warzone Firefight. It takes the AI a couple seconds to find out where you are and if someone else attacks they go straight to attacking them. This has saved me a couple of time against bosses.

For the most part I tend to use Patrol case, auto-medic and wheelman in WZFF. WZ I tend to use Patrol Case, Auto-medic, Upgraded shields and upgraded thrusters. WZA I tend to use auto-medic, wheelman, upgraded thruster and upgraded shields. Everything else I use on a need to bases. These ones are my go to when I am not playing with friends.
Nice list.
I also use Advanced the most in WZ now since I have my 2 favorite weapons with the right zoom and attachment. Silencers. I almost took over a base by myself doing this combo. I only go diffrent attachments when they are not a option anymore.
the 2 mods I always use is the wheelman mod and splinter grenade mods. those 2 mods are my bae

Hate when that happens, all your hard work and you team doesn’t help.
I would like to add that the most important thing about Armor Mods is that your remember you have them. I have heard players many times say they forgot to equip the armor mod.
I was able to us the Speed Booster (on a friends account). I was able to use as hit and runs, but found it was better suited for defending armories and garages mainly on Raid on Apex and Battle of Noctus. I would get there and since most of the time they camp on the top levels I was able to switch my armor mod to Upgraded Shields or Auto-Medic, usually Auto-Medic since it was quicker to select this one, and I could duck and cover to get my shields back real quick.
