Armor Mods, Beam Rifle, BiRi, And More Confirmed

So I went to Gamestop yesterday to put another $100 on my H5 Console preorder. As I was there, I noticed Gamestop had a kind-of helper’s guide to those trying to understand Halo 5, mostly the REQ system and Warzone.

In it, it was showing how to choose the weapons you want in Warzone, how to unlock REQ cards, what the REQ cards hold, etc…, etc… You get the point. We’ve been through this multiple times.

But the spotlight of it all was what the booklet showed.

When it showed how to choose a weapon in Warzone, it showed three Beam Rifles (two with skins, and the Beam Rifle does look like the Halo 4 version) and two Binary Rifles (one with a skin).

When it showed what you could get in your REQ packs, it showed:
The option of being able to spawn in with a power-up (Active Camo, Overshield, Speed Boost, or Damage Boost).
The option of spawning in with an Armor Mod (aka, the Perks from Halo 4). I unfortunately can’t remember what the Armor Mod was that the booklet was showing as an example, but I do remember it wasn’t an Armor Mod in Halo 4.
It also showed a new Assassination called “Sweeping The Leg”.

So, very interesting. I figured the Beam Rifle and Binary Rifle were going to be in Halo 5, but I didn’t expect being able to spawn in with a power-up in Warzone (though I did wonder how they were going to be in Warzone, if at all), and I definitely didn’t expect Armor Mods to be making a comeback (and yes, they’re only available in Warzone).

You didn’t take a picture?

Armor mods? Again? Aw… -Yoink!-.

Well, more on the overall topic, where was this guide thing? Near the Xbox section? The register? I’ll have to drop in by my local Gamestop some time and see what it has

Armor Mods doesn’t mean anything. It still can be balanced. Plus btb won’t have any.

Even if he didn’t, this is still the most recent news we have on any new weapons, or warzone power ups.

I know I just wasn’t a fan of them in Halo 4. They were just so stupid. Of course, many of the stupid ones are apart of Warzone/Guardians’ basic features (equip two primary/power weapons, pick up grenades again, unlimited sprint) so maybe they won’t be so bad.

I know Warzone is supposed to be the “anything goes” section of Halo 5, but I’d still like some kind of predictability to the fights. I hope to God there’s no perks like picking up extra nades or faster shield charge, otherwise in the right hands I could see Warzone confrontations being extremely frustrating.

Yeah, they’ll probably be more minor changes like point multipliers or disabling the sniper glare on your sniper.

I had nothing that could take pics on me  Otherwise, I definitely would have.

At my local Gamestop, near one of the two cash registers. It was like next to where they hold the GameInformers and release date book of upcoming games. It’s a small, length-wide booklet with the Halo 5 cover art on the front of it.

NOoooooo why dey do dis :frowning:

So much for equal starts - It matters in Warzone too. Thank goodness it won’t be in arena though.

Boo, Sniper rifle reskin aka Beam Rifle being included over Focus rifle…

While I can see the value of skins as a way to retain population and interest(See: CSGO), the more I see of Warzone the more I am saddened by the lack of BTB at launch as 343’s definition of ‘Soon’ is a bit loose, but at least all the unbalanced aspects are concentrated in one place rather than leaking out over the whole experience(loadouts, spawning with power weapons, etc).

Hopefully it’ll only be minor stuff.

Hey they are giving all gamers what they are asking for if you don’t want them the MCC addition is still there.

They’ve stated from the beginning that Warzone wouldn’t be like that, they defined a clear division between it and arena. I say the more crazy upgrade -Yoink- in Warzone the better. Leave the balanced game types to arena and BTB, let me grind for cool upgrades in Warzone.

I feel like I expect people to have smartphones so much, that it oddly seems odd to me when people don’t have such devices.

I’m sorry but, what? I don’t understand any part of this statement. Where were smartphones mentioned and where was it mentioned that someone does not have one? Though I might as well not have one since I’m stuck with an iPhone 4…

The ‘armor mods/perks from halo 4’ thing… I’m not happy about that.

Huh? So what your saying is that you’d take a less powerful, over sized sentinel beam with a scope that gave away your position every time you fired over the Beam Rifle? Not only is the Beam Rifle superior in almost all stats, but you can take advantage of its own characteristics better ( no reloading unless you pull the trigger too fast, smaller zoom but easier to use in closer ranges for no-scopes). There is a reason that Alligator Gun was left behind on Reach.

To the OP, while I’d wait until 343 confirmed on what is in the REQ stations, I’m not surprised about it. You can hear Palmer’s voice say “weapons, vehicles and power-ups” can be called in when you take over a base. Besides, it’s only in warzone so Arena people got nothing to worry about.

Thing is, the Beam Rifle is actually a tiny bit more viable than the Sniper Rifle… There’s no recoil, making it easier to double-shot people, and it never needs to be reloaded. Normally, I would call it a reskin, but typically a ‘reskin’ isn’t the stronger of the two.

I mean, I sort of expect people to simply have smartphones, yes you have one, which are such multitools and include cameras. So, I sort of got pulled back that not everyone has one. Which is why I was surprised at the not having a picture.

But if anyone else sees it, pictures please! I’m interesting in the skins.
