Ever had a moment where you take out a legendary weapon, you go out to use it, get instantly sniped in the head, and then someone steals it? What a kick in the nuts.
To remedy this a bit, I have an idea for an Armor Mod (even if 343 won’t add it to H5, it could be added to H6). This Armor Mod is called “Torch and Burn”, and makes it so that when you die, anything you were carrying is disintegrated. This way, your enemies can’t loot your stuff after you die. Seeing as you’re probably never gonna get the weapon back anyways even without this Armor Mod, this would at least provide some insurance so that enemies don’t steal your Prophet’s Bane or whatnot.
It probably would need some extra functionality, but at the very least this would be very handy for keeping your high-quality weapons out of enemy hands.
I agree this would need some more functionality but it does sound like a useful mod.
I like the idea but I feel as though that fear of having your weapons stolen is key to strategically using the weapon efficiently and carefully. I’d be curious to see how people’s gameplay changes based on this feature.

Perhaps the same functionality should extend to vehicles. Should you die, your vehicle will be rendered a giant booby trap for the enemy team or will simply disappear shortly.

Or it self-destructs.

This seriously reminds me of CoD 4’s Martyrdom perk. Basically upon death you drop a live grenade, and if Arby N’ The Chief taught me anything about it, it’s that the perk is particularly spammy. Might wanna stay away from something like that.

Not saying it should be Martyrdom. Just that if you get headshotted while on a Ghost or something similar, it blows up rather than being left for someone to steal.

Yeah, I get you. Point is, though, there’s room for abusing that perk. If the basic idea of the thing is the vehicle/weapon blows up when you die, what’s stopping people from rushing into contested areas and trying to score a crap ton of multi-kills? Sure, you could make the explosion do no damage, but then you still have the debris that can accidentally splatter people, too.
I definitely agree with this, if I died with a norfang, high five, or SPNKr prime, Torch and Burn would prevent enemey Spartans from taking my high reqs.
But you can’t burn metal
Jokes aside I do agree with the idea, I support it in any way, cause it can be annoying losing your weapons to some person (Especially campers/Teamkillers)
And I’m also that crazy to rig and carry my weapons with a lil bomb inside

Theyd probably charge into spire weilding a nornfang (sarcasm since its obviously a close quarters weapon)
definitely sounds interesting

What if the vehicle disappeared like in the campaign mission where you get the constructor?
