Armor mod: "black eye" meele to regain shields

Black eye like the skull but for an armor ability.

Whenever you use basic meele attacks you gain some health/shields back.

Your shields take longer to begin recharging.
Your meele recovers 25% shields/ health.
(getting hit -50%)

Wouldn’t everyone have this equipped then? It would be very annoying as well, not being able to kill another Spartan with melee.

It could be the first level 9 req.

The health recovery fast but over time.
It wouldn’t be overpowered if the ammount of health was fair.

Like 25% per punch.
You get hit -50 (50\100)
You punch +25 (75/100)
They punch -50 (25/100)
You punch +25 (50/100) they died

Afterwards your open to headshots.

Increased time before your shields start recharging.

Seems pretty hard to implement. Nevertheless by the time your REQ Lvl 9, everyone should have the entire REQ arsenal of CQB weaponry to use (all of which are pretty much OHK). It would be pretty pointless to have a shield restoring melee perk that is made obsolete by one hit melees in the Loadout weapon blade attachments, swords, hammers.

If you used silenced weapons and advanced sensors and a bayonet it’d be pretty easy to kill spartans with that ability

Sounds less like Black Eye and more like a vampirism ability.

Personally I’m not a fan of how this proposal sounds. Overall it sounds like it would be a detriment a Spartan’s efficiency in the field. Also, the methodology behind such an ability eludes me. What would be the mechanism by which close-quarters-combat would refill the shield gauge? Are you stealing shield from enemies? If that’s the case, how would you explain it working against unshielded enemies?

I’d rather have the option of equipping two armor mods at once by the time I reach Level 9 REQs.

It can be balanced.
When your shields are down, they take extra time to recharge.
And since it’s a level 9 req you wouldn’t be using it often.
And enemies have every weapon to counter it.

As it only helps in meele fights, and makes you weaker in other types of engagements.

Exactly, it greatly helps in melee encounters, and what’s stopping you from making every encounter a melee encounter? Nothing. Just pop on a camo and your good to go.

No one would use this because it’d do more harm than help to your Spartan.

And can you people please stop calling them armor abilities?! Those were in Reach and Halo 4! Halo 5 we have armor mods and Spartan abilities! THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT THINGS!
