Armor Lock should return

Ok I understand why everyone hates Armor Lock in Reach but it was actually fun and entertaining to play against (I didn’t use it too often). The person using it usually always died unless some freak accident occurred. He was highlighted and obvious for all enemies to notice and kill once he’s out of it.

It wasn’t the worst thing in the world to be killed when you tried to ram someone with a ghost and got yoinked. It was also hilarious when someone used it and suddenly, they were surrounded by anxious enemies that were eager to blow them away with everything they had, grenades, rockets, and even some bold punches. The Armor Ability was widely considered a gimmick and I agree but it also built several custom games to what they are and was really cool in campaign. It doesn’t need to make its way into Arena but it certainly can.

It slowed gameplay down a little bit and kind of ‘locked’ it in place but if Halo 5 made it a Spartan Ability, I’m sure they could balance it. Like something as simple as being able to throwing back grenades. A bad example but an example.

In Arena it can be similar to an equipment, a one time use map pick-up.

In BTB, I’m positive that a nerfed and/or altered version of Armor Lock wouldn’t be a huge problem.

Lastly, is it true that EVERYONE hates Armor Lock or is it just the hyper-competitive community?

I would bet on it.

Please, stop. Just… stop

There’s good reason for most to be against armor lock, it really messes with the game flow and was tremendously over powered. However, in no community is anything ever hated by 100% of the community, there are always those whom no matter how obnoxious the thing is, will defend it to no end.

I thought armor lock was immensely fun, it didn’t bother me at all. but i understand why everyone hated it

Hahahahahahaha, hell no. I would use the entire 7500 character limit of this post, and 3 more just to use the F bomb and tell you how many times I say ‘~ no’, because of how TERRIBLE that armor ability is. It won’t come back, and I’m sooooo happy.

Yes, the overwhelming majority hates it.

No, it is not fun to play against.

Kill it…kill it with fire

Anyone that isn’t a complete noob that didn’t abuse Armor Lock as a crutch disliked it.

Liking AL makes about as much sense as liking bloom.

But bloom added so much skill to the DMR. /s

No, really…people say that.

Worst AA in reach I hope it never returns

No please no!

You know, it’s funny you should bring this up. The reason people hated armor abilities in Reach is that they were all so defensive and geared towards either avoiding combat or escaping combat. Armor lock, hologram, camo, that bubble shield that regenerated health, and so on all brought the game to a grinding halt. You’ll notice that jetpack, sprint, and evade, abilities which had utility in either positioning for a fight or outright for use in combat, have been altered as necessary (IE: sprint resets shield regeneration, jetpack became clamber) and added to Halo 5.

Well, this is all conjecture on my part, but the pieces do fit.

No thanks… We don’t need noob lock back. It should never never come back

Lol funny thread. Absolutely not WTF?

Let’s not.

No it shouldn’t.

There’s nothing fun about a guy armor locking only for you to either get wrecked by something else, or spend a few seconds just sitting there with your thumb up your -Yoink- waiting for him to pop out of it.

Actually who ever thought that giving someone godmode was a good idea in the first place? Anyone who is even remotely competitive hates armor lock, and that includes your average casual player.

I thought AL was great…In custom games.
It was fun launching a Warthog with it.

I’m curious to see if I can pop a Hog in the air with the GP area effect ( if timed right )

No AA should return. Let’s leave the abomination that is AL back in past where it belongs.
