so, 343 if you understand that armor lock is the plague, and that it is so horrendous for halo that it should absolutely not be in halo 4 multiplayer, why dont you remove it from halo reach as well?
the majority of the people who play halo reach despise armor lock.
lets nuke armor lock in reach, too. we all know it was a mistake. if it wasnt, 343 would be using it for h4 matchmaking. the fact that they arent proves armor lock is the bane of halos current existence.

Possible, but they would have to get someone to unlock it for EVERY new person to Halo: Reach.
Even though your suggestion was just, silly, that is the only way they could do it.
And as far as I remember, the Armour Lock achievement is linked to DLC, and it only shows up when purchased such DLC, so players would need to buy the DLC before it could be forcibly unlocked.

I got it without noble or defiant though. I got it while on ridgeline. Same goes for achievements such as totally worth it, or cross mappin’ and these were on default reach maps.
Playing reach with the title update I like armour lock even more now than ever before. It’s more fun to watch someone go into AL to avoid a plasma grenade or plasma launcher but come out of it only to find another coming at them. They can’t stay in there forever and in TU reach if you stick them before they turn on armour lock it won’t save them. Work around it. Blowing up vehicles like ghosts or revenants is also fun to do with it.
There are a lot of people that will be fine if Halo 4 doesn’t play like Reach, but who would very angry if Reach itself stopped playing like Reach. Changing Reach too much could drive these people away – lowering present and future population counts just to make a gameplay change that could be delayed without any significant consequences.
It doesn’t bother me much these days, I don’t often see it in matchmaking. Even though it was initially my favourite AA for a while, I think it was more due to the novelty of complete temporary invincibility that anything else, and that wore off eventually. I pretty much almost exclusively use sprint these days, or evade if forced to in living dead (which I don’t play much except with friends anyway). Yeah I’ve had it used against me for the EMP once since getting back on xbl for the first time in over 8 months a couple of weeks ago, annoying but hey, I’d rather that than randomly die for no apparent reason due to lag (which has also happened since I got back on xbl!). AL seems to be very rarely used in MM from what I can see now, and while I agree the game is all the better for it being that way, it can still have occasional uses (heck I have chosen it in a loadout once since getting back online, in elite slayer, died before I could use it, and immediately switched back to sprint because I like the extra speed boost that sprint gives!).

Armor lock is pretty easy to deal with. Unless you’re the kind of person who stands still and stares at the person, ignoring your radar; or you run up to stand next to them until AL ends…then you’ll probably fail. You can’t hurt them, but they also can’t hurt you; you can make it drain faster or throw a well timed grenade that explodes once they come out.
As much as I hate armor lock, I hate jetpacks more. In many instances they completely negate map movement, map control, cover, grenades, lines of sight, etc. Not to mention looking upwards in this game is slow on most sensitivities and trying to get a headshot on someone jetpacking close to you is near impossible so you’re forced to body shot. I’ve played so many people who would completely who wouldn’t be nearly as good if it wasn’t for their use of a jetpack. /rant.

It depends, really. I have reason to suspect that the achievement-unlock code exists in each gametype’s Megalo script. If 343i just added a line to every gametype’s Megalo code, to award the achievement when the match started…
