Now we all know Armor Lock is probably the biggest problem in this game. But we know it needs to be nerfed. But what most of you complainers (If the main complainers are here yet) dont realize is that you want to make it perfect not completly destoy the AA where its useless. So I have a logical way of nerfing it without destroying it.
Feel free to add your own ideas.
One of the problems with AL is that its WAY to long.
Solution: Nerf the duration to either 3 or 4 seconds in duration. You choose which.
The reason for this is that AL is supoosed to live through a Rocket or a vehicle or something. Not a barrage of enemies.
Another problem is EMP.
Solution: Nerf EMP to the point where it ONLY works when you have used AL for the FULL 3 or 4 seconds.
This will fix any spamming the AA button to EMP them.
Also remove Frosting.Now I think that will be enough. We dont want to make it useless do we?

They can remove all of them from every playlist, which yields the same effect.

They can nerf Armor Lock, but they won’t. Your proposals are good though.
Armor lock is a ghost lovers nightmare. I’d like to see it only half way damage vehicles. Other then that, I don’t really care what else happens to it.

No. You see that was its signiture and is quite hard to do…sort of just shoot before you splatter.
@Sky Fighta: I agree with what you are saying. It should be removed from all playlists with 5v5 and under. Keep it in n6v6 and up playlists.
AL was made to protect against vehicles, iirc, so there’s absolutely no reason for it to be in playlists that are 5v5 and below. It just ruins any CQC combat in those. I like the current approach Bungie is taking though, adding in new playlists without Armor Lock. \
I don’t know if a possible TU will make changes to AL, but keeping it in Invasion and BTB would be the best idea outside of that.
What about a mid AL stage that lasts 1 second and you can only survives low amounts of damage such as assault riffle, magnum, etc… but not gernades, vehicles, ROCKET LAUNCHERS, spartan lasers, etc… and I also like the no EMP if not used fully 5 seconds.

i’d take the current armor lock, nerf the duration to 3 seconds, remove frosting effect entirely, remove the EMP (and possibly replace it with something that pushes away super strong but does no damage). you should also not be able to melee after exiting armor lock for at least 1 or 2 seconds to prevent the AL + melee + AL + melee tactic.
to counteract these changes it should have a bit faster cooldown (meaning if you use the full duration you can use another full duration faster than you would have been able to before)
