Armor in depth

This is gonna be short but i really like how the armor in Halo Reach is scratched up and worn cause i feel like it gives our Spartan a back story even though you might not know it. I hope in Halo Infinite we at least have an option to pick whether or not our armor is worn or new cause i don’t really like the toy looking super soldier like in Halo 5 or Halo 4.
Let me know if you agree or have a better idea

I believe it’ll be similar to how chief’s armor appears in the Halo Infinite trailer. Clean but noticeable wear throughout.

Perhaps there will be armor pieces with even more visible wear/damage to them as well.

I really have come to like the idea of variable amounts of wear according to player choice. Skins have already been in two mainline Halo games now, and I’d say instead of doing some of those 343 would be better off giving us two or three different levels of wear for each set of armor.

I think it’d be amazing if you unlocked the worn versions of armor only by wearing the unworn versions of the same armor through enough matches or something like that- it’d help contribute to the sense that your Spartan has unique armor that’s been with them through many battles.

They’re in a pretty good spot narratively for the worn armor to make a comeback- in Halo 4 and 5 the UNSC is in a golden age of resources and funding. It makes sense that no Spartan would be wearing anything less than pristine armor given the abundance of supply in those games, although I agree that the overly clean and polished look of the armors makes the Spartans seem less authentic, gritty and respectable. With the end of Guardians leaving the UNSC in a lurch, we might have an opportunity to see armor that Spartans have been forced to keep wearing beyond what’s advisable.

Nothing makes your Spartan look like a unmitigated death dealing survivor quite like a cracked visor and some dents and dings throughout their armor.

I’d love to have armour textures. Scratches, chips, dirt/grime, etc.

Well wear & tear is imitating as how battlefield could have affected the protective shell, I cant really even take any enemies seriously that cant make even a dent on the surface of the armor.

In this case, imperfection is perfection.
