I feel like armor effects are not as rare as before their kinda everywhere now and it kinda dampers the coolness of having any effects on your armor im as guilty as anyone else bought the cherry blossom effect cause it was cute but Iv kept the weapon effect and the action effects but im not wearing the armor effects cause it feels over saturated
Feel like armor effects should be event exclusive or something with challenges
Do rarities actually mean anything?

No. Just an arbitrary stat that game devs give to cosmetic so they can justify a higher price. What makes one red visor rarer than another red visor?
Means 343 can try to trick people into thinking something is more valuable than another something, even if they both equally suck (i’m looking at you emblems)

Well im not talking about visors just armor effects like floating halo above your head that you buy and the flames and halo visor you earn
Feel like we are getting more effects than actual armor

I was just using them as an example since I actually have two red visors, but I got you

Hey hey HEY!
This red visor has lines in it, hence, it is only an “Epic” visor.
This other one has CIRCLES in it, so it is LEGENDARRRRRRYYYYYY

When you say it like that it sounds ridiculous

I can think of only 3 ways to solve the rarity issue.
- Make the rarest stuff the most expensive. Like crazy expensive $100 for those armor effects.
- Almost never sell the super rare stuff, and when you do, make the purchase window very short so not many can buy it.
- Make some cool stuff that you actually have to earn in game, and make it really hard to earn.
I’m ok with only one of these ideas.

How does that solve it?
It doesn’t change the quality of the item, it only increases the price
The first one
Same thing with the second, it does nothing to solve why it is a higher rarity

I’m saying those things would make rare things actually rare.

Ah, ok, my bad for misunderstanding

Armor rarities in general mean absolutely nothing. Look at the game pass. Alleged rare items are unlocked before common items. Makes little sense.

No problem, you’re just coming from the perspective that “rare” should be “cooler” which I agree with. That’s kinda hard to do since it is entirely subjective. So the only way to make things actually rare is to make them harder to get.
