Personally, it’s just a extra cosmetic for the players to use to add “personality” to their own spartan (and also yes, it looks pretty cool). Back in Halo 3, people wanted Recon armor and the flaming helmet because it’s so rare to get and it just looks cool. Halo Reach expanded on the customization and had a whole lot more armor and a few more armor effects. A little disappointing to see that the only thing you can customize on your Spartan in Halo 5 was just the helmets and body armor (along with stances, assassinations, weapon skins, etc.). I hope 343 adds more customization features in Halo 6.

That’s my Halo 4 Spartan. The knife is part of a stance called “Last Stand” and is obtained by hitting SR50.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the armor effects in arena game modes to balance where reqs go. Currently the only reqs that go to arena are boosts, armor, and skins. I think adding armor effects in customs and arena would be fine but not in war zone. Warzone is intended to be canon and armor effects have no canonical grounds to exist. It would also give enemies an advantage. Say a sniper is firing on your position and you have flying hearts exposing your location. It would guarantee your death if you moved away from cover. Arena is a much more fast paced game and it wouldn’t matter very much except for in games like infection. A solution to this could be when you are crouching, the effects dim down, but when you sprint they are enhanced.
This would be a good idea, however because of certain game modes, such as Minotaurs, or Infection, or even Breakout, having a stealth aspect. Armor effects would probably mess up these games, unless its disabled in these game modes. Also this wouldn’t be lore accurate because the multiplayer is canonically a simulation.

Armor effects are nice but need to be executed well. Good example of good execution is reach. Example of bad ones are in halo 4 such as the sentry and the full shield. Need to be useful abilities that are good to the game and players

TBH, 343i can’t just throw out a game, ignore ideas, and expect success. The community give the game it’s popularity and sweet ideas. 343i would never be successful, if it weren’t for those who contributed outside 343i. They should always consider things, even if they don’t enjoy it.
