A canon explanation for Armor Effects would be they are holographic images made by the War Games simulation.

> Well, since 343, the multiplayer is canon now. So no more armor effects, as they are not realistic. Only pizza skins. /s
Its worth noting that Warzone and Arena are simulations, so it is more than capable of adding Armor Effects, except it would probably be either part of the RNG hell called the REQ system, or straight up behind a paywall. Or even both!
Armor effects in Reach were just there. They weren’t anything special. I’d prefer to not have them return.
Not bad idea but … that could unbalance the multiplayer of the game since they could have horrible advantages against the others like the armor block or the rocket backpack but equally not bad idea is something nostalgic
Including them could probably be fun.
For those who hate fun and colorful effects in shooters, though, a toggle to disable them would be a nice.
I personally loved everything about reach I think it would be an interesting mix at least do it for social lol
I never liked, but the idea Its interesting, maybe someday in WZ could be nice.

Yeh I agree but maybe 1 game mode with them that stays in Halo 5 forever that way there’s 1 game mode with them then obviously you could use the ablilities in costum games but yeh
Though armor effects seem unnesessary I think that they should return. Even if you didn’t want to spend your credits on armor effects it was still good to know that the option was still there. Armor effects have played a bigger role in Halo than most people think. When someone used armor effects it showed that they were a true Halo player because they worked hard to get it. It showed people that they were Halo veterans and their love and dedication to the game. Armor effects may not have been necessary but you had to really work for it just to be able to get them. When it comes to armor customisation i think that 343i should go back to Reach’s armor customisation. All you have in Halo 5 is the Helmet and the body, and over 200 pieces of armor. 343i should have gotten rid of 3/4 of the armor and made them more distinguishable. There’s a lot of armor that is just ridiculous. When it comes to the body armor you can barely tell the difference between most of the armor. I think Halo should return to Reach’s form of custumisation.
you should get these for going up ranks. or something for going up ranks.
I personally agree with D347, I loved the Jet pack. I hope they bring it back in quote unquote “The next halo game” .

> I loved Halo: Reach when it bought it and started playing for the first time. I saw all these amazing features. I just loved how you could make your own combination of armor from helmet to shoulders to torso. I liked the armor effects as well. They were just the coolest thing to me. So the question is: Why can’t a feature like this be in Halo 5? Do they not like it, or is it just because of some other reason? Was it hated by many players and 343 decided not to add it? Many questions lay in my mind about this. I don’t know about you guys, but Maaaaaaan… do I want a sick skull, birthday party, or inclement weather effects on my Halo 5 set.

I’d like them but it would just be another thing to drop the FPS in games.
The armor abilities would be obtained through REQ packs. But they most likely will come attached with the spartan armor

true

Probably not. Halo 6 is ways away considering the fact that they are “taking their time” for the new one.
it would be cool for them to bring them back
there useless and not a lot of people liked them but I think some of them were cool like the confetti or the hearts

They should add a thing where in multiplayer everytime you get a headshot the grunt birthday party thing goes off with the sound and confetti.

Lol. If it takes loooong, then hopefully there won’t be these glitches and bugs that aren’t currently being fixed.
Personally, I enjoyed armor effects. Silly and non-conforming? Perhaps, but it felt awesome to be running around wearing a thunderstorm.
