I like the idea but as this is 343, more likely or not they will charge real money for these effects but hey, sod it, if I can have the flaming helmet again. I’d say it’s worth my cash.
What would also be cool as an effect to have an effect that has the incineration (think that’s how you slept it) glow and slowly move about with the most visiable on the foot and least on the head.

Armor abilities: armor lock, drop shield, jetpack, sprint, etc. (these were actual gameplay elements)
Armor effects: Inclement Weather, Pestilence, hearts/confetti come out when killed, orange/blue flames on helmet (these were purely cosmetic visual effects that you could apply to your character, but had no effect on gameplay)

I believe that Halo 5 should make some armor effects (like the lightening and hearts, not saying armor lock / jet pack, lol) for a REQ pack that costs $5 or so, with no RP option.
The point is to get the masses to buy it with money (if they want it, it gives zero advantage in game) much like the voice pack. This way we can get that Reach feel for a reasonable price.
I think there should be many more purchasable REQ packs like the team weapon skins and the voice pack. I would recommend making the prices $5.
Also, anything that is a one time option to purchase with real money should never leave the REQ store. It drives me crazy knowing I can’t get all the weapon skins (even from MS store), therefore I haven’t bought many of them. Why would MS not want to maximize profit?

Sounds fair enough. What if they make like a limited time thing but it’s unlockable, for ya know… a limited time. Then it can resort to money packs.
I think they will do it but it will probably be a 10 dollar req pack with all of them.

I like this idea of disabling them, it would surely then satisfy the part of the community who don’t want them back. And the people who do want them back.

Maybe you’d get them out of normal REQ packs, but you’d get a few free ones, to start off.
I’m all for reach era Halo, gimmicks as they are, they were still alot of fun. Miss earning these things through tasks and achievements! Also miss the titles in ranking!

That’s not really an armor effect, though. That was a Spartan Ability or, better yet, a power up like in the original trilogy.
