Inclement weather was the best.
Just another annoying thing that I would rather see not come back, especially since multiplayer is canon now.
I wouldn’t mind it, and I would definitely like to see more stuff like the haunted Pilot helmet with the skull in it. That sort of stuff was awesome.

> Actually this can easily be explained using canon, in a social environment Spartans may be allowed to modify what their armor emits using the simulations holographic projectors, or it could just be a glitch like the Timmy helmet.
That would actually make more sense than in Reach

> I’d rather see the opposite. I.E. I put on the birthday party effect and everyone I headshot offers me a “Yay!” and some confetti. Since it would only be from the perspective of the person using it everyone should be happy with that.
That has been talked about for weapon skins as well. You could choose whether to have them on or off. I think that is a great idea! Giving the community more customization options is never a bad thing. Let everyone play how they want.

> I loved Halo: Reach when it bought it and started playing for the first time. I saw all these amazing features. I just loved how you could make your own combination of armor from helmet to shoulders to torso. I liked the armor effects as well. They were just the coolest thing to me. So the question is: Why can’t a feature like this be in Halo 5? Do they not like it, or is it just because of some other reason? Was it hated by many players and 343 decided not to add it? Many questions lay in my mind about this. I don’t know about you guys, but Maaaaaaan… do I want a sick skull, birthday party, or inclement weather effects on my Halo 5 set.

> How do you feel of this topic friends?
I feel that the looks were nice, but the use for them was very minimal
Armor effects made the game less serious In my opinion, But it didn’t stop me from using one for cosmetic Reasons…
Add something like viewer effects or return the flame helmets
It would be very good if the helmets of flame come back
Same to me I love all those functions of the halo reach and to be able to make armor combinations and the effects of the helmets of flames are great
I say nay what they should do is just add the Halo 4 costomization system and thats all except allow emblems on your shoulders
They are gimmicks that aren’t necessary. Halo 5 multiplayer takes on the role as being a simulation on the battlefield meaning that it takes a very realistic approach to the play style and visuals. You wouldn’t normally see Spartans killing each other in reality would you? Also due to the realism of the multiplayer means no elites as playable sin halo 4 and 5
I think this feature was amazing! Halo really needs to drop the simulation part of matchmaking that only limits the game. Make it badass and unique like it used to be with armor effects and other stuff like flaming skulls as oddballs and little quirks in the game like unexplainable kills going to “the guardians”.
Armor effects were great but I belive they are not returning because 343 are worried they may ruin balance by giving away your position, if they did return it should only be in customs, Forge and social playlists including Warzone

Just because its a simulation does not mean these features have to be dropped. They could be explained as glitches in the system like the Timmy helmet

You took the words right out of my mouth, I think making multiplayer canon is a horrible decision and it just ruins the ruins the feel of halo. Who the heck cares if multiplayer doesn’t make sense??? I don’t play multiplayer for an amazing storytelling experience. It doesn’t make sense that people would say they don’t like armor effects, but they like pizza skins on their guns. 343 has all the wrong priorities in multiplayer (and campaign ) and it seems like they don’t care about what the majority of players want. I don’t play halo duty 5 anymore, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with adding armor effects. I would have enjoyed it if it was in the game… oh never mind I actually wouldn’t have actually enjoyed it because I wouldn’t have unlocked it because you can’t CHOOSE what you want to unlock because the rng req system. Thanks 343 for the obnoxious req system that punishes the player when they want to unlock something. Armor effects were cool in halo reach because you could CHOOSE to buy them. Halo 5 isn’t a user friendly game and it makes it extremely annoying to try to unlock a cosmetic. It’s really sad to think about it because 343 had great examples for unlock systems from halo 3 and reach.I don’t think 343 should add armor effects in halo 5 or future halos if they have rng unlock systems because it will just continue to disappoint players, not because armor effects aren’t cool or ruin the game in any way. It really isn’t worth the disappointment.
Armor Effects were great. I don’t see why not. I loved them. Didn’t do much, but I don’t see why not.
It would be sweet if they brought them back honestly.
Good god, no please. I don’t want those in any Halo ever again, they just felt kinda childish, especially since MP is now canon.
I loved the realism and grittiness of Reach, but then they had a bunch of armor effects that just kinda threw all that out the window, and if you didn’t like them, you couldn’t turn other peoples’ off, either.

So you think halo 5 isn’t childish??? It’s rated t !!! And pizza skins aren’t childish either? There isn’t any blood in the game or anything remotely serious so you can’t call halo armor effects is halo reach childish when the very game you lust over is the definition of childish. Halo 5 is the most childish and unrealistic halo to date. Making multiplayer canon is the literally rips the heart and soul out of halo, amongst other things.
