Armor effects: Are they coming back?

Armor effects are widely used in Halo: Reach by many players, and a lot of people have become attached to them. Grunt birthday party was a simple, yet loved armor effect in Halo’s community. Legendary and Eternal were really neat exclusive effects for your Spartan. Inclement weather is widely used because it’s so expensive. It feels pretty great to obtain.

So will they, (and should they), be coming back?

What about an Ice effect? Your Spartan’s armor could be frosted over, and maybe even a small amount of frost breath coming from the helmet.

A Damaged effect? There could be cracks in your Spartan’s armor, maybe even a cracked visor. Just slightly of course, no need too overdo it.

Or a Shine effect? Your armor could be particularly shiny when in light. Not really a fantastic idea, but I’m just spit ballin’ here.

What if we got visor effects? Your helmet could look like it’s flooded, or a spark could flash behind it, or… you know what, for a training program, that doesn’t really seem appropriate. Let’s move on.

What do you guys think? Should effects be coming back? If yes, what effect would you like to see?

I do want armor effects to make a return in Halo 4. I think that there should again be an exclusive one for getting the limited edition because I always used Legendary in Reach.

No.

I don’t really care. I won’t be using them anyway.

> No.

here we go again

I would like a LE edition ONLY sure

But otherwise I don’t really care

I don’t want them to return. Not for halo 4, I want to feel more immersed.

How about they spend that time and money on something worth it like I dont know maybe some good maps unlike sword base…

If they are back I hope none of them has annoying noises.

if I’m not mistaken I believe the biggest issue (for me) was that the map wasn’t symmetrical, I’m pretty sure the 3 maps we’ve seen (excluding ravine for obvious reasons) are symmetrical which would mean that would be better than sword base.

in my opinion I thought the spire was the worst map in halo reach, the map was so large that you could have 16v16 battles plus the addition of the little camp nest at the top was unbearable for me. sword base wasn’t the greatest, but it was a lot more tolerable than the spire was.

Yea I dont play BTB for that reason of to large of a map, But I play SWAT and Im tired of everyone wetting their pants for swordbase. Seriously play that map 4/5 games and 75% of the players vote for the worst map ever in MM

This! hearing “Yay” all the time drives me insane.

I would like them to return but I’m sure if they were coming back we’d know by now surely?

Gonna miss my Legendary Flames tbh…

They can’t come back anyway, how would they would since mm is now “canon”?

> They can’t come back anyway, how would they would since mm is now “canon”?

well the fact that its just simulation would kind of defend it being there because its not meant to be 100% realistic in the first place.

Sword Base didn’t have to be bad. It’s just obvious they didn’t put a lot of thought into it, or that they didn’t really playtest it. That’s why there were so many cheap camping spots in places that really should have been inaccessible. It just needed some polish and care that Bungie could not be -Yoinked!- to give.

But if you want to talk about terrible, terrible multiplayer maps: “Zealot”. Nothing to use for cover, the enemy team ALWAYS knows where you are at all times, and it’s a small map where it still takes too long to get anywhere? And a fun anti-gravity chamber that THE GAME WON’T LET YOU USE?

It’s Reach’s “Midship”. Just not in the way people were expecting.

I’d say no to A.E.s and think Skins will be the “New Thing”.

I have to agree with you on the campspots in reach, shouldn’t of happened given that they had a beta but oh well.

as for you not liking zealot I’m sorry, however to me a map that is symmetrical and doesn’t have power weapons is a map I like (especially for MLG).

I have to agree that them blocking off the anti-gravity zones was kind of annoying, but they did have a reason for it, just wish they would have thought about it a little bit sooner.

Hopefully one of the best things about halo 4 is not dealing with reach’s maps. Though we may end up with its own version of noobbase and hemorrhoids! arg… time will only tell.

I doubt they’ll make maps worse than reach’s, they’ll put jetpack and sprint into consideration a lot more this time around (hopefully)

and I would also advise you to not twist around names like that, someone here could easily just say Zowhore or something and I’m sure you would see why thats so annoying. the whole you can’t spell ignorant without IGN thing is a good example of this, in no way is it creative or even accurate in a lot of ways.
