Just wondering, just a thought would we ever see the armor effects come back? Like the Flaming chest piece or an actually effect it self?
naaaaaw. I don’t see the need but I’m sure there will be those who disagree with me.

Agreed.
Although the effects were cool when Reach came around, the only reason they even existed was due to the hype that surrounded the Legendary Flaming Recon Helmet stuff and so on. So far, we have no need for it, and although I am all for some silliness and random stuff on my Spartan or Elite in Halo, I wouldn’t die if I couldn’t have a cloud of gross gunk on my armor.
Sure, why not? I really enjoyed the grunt birthday party effect in Reach.
Absolutely. There’s no good reason why they shouldn’t but a few decent reasons why they should.
First, there’s precedence. They’ve been around since Halo 3. Second, align very well with a robust armory. Third, they don’t alter impact game play. If anything, they make the wearer more of a target (I dispute that, but can’t prove it), so it’s really just personal choice.
I don’t need a canonical reason for Grunt Bday Part, or Inclement Weather, a Hayabusa Katana, a skull inside my helmet. Sometimes things just need to be fun. Halo always had a sense of irreverence with its multiplayer, and I feel this is a great visible way of keeping that.
Plus, if 343 smartens up and makes DLC maps free like they should be, then it probably falls to aesthetic add-ons to make $$ via micro transactions. I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely shell out for any of the above, or heck, Reindeer antlers in December.
Naaaah
armor effects were always this bungie thing…so I’m not sure
i don’t really care. if I could choose between reintroducing armor effects or nameplates, I’d say nameplates
I hated them because of how distracting they were.
I don’t care either way, but they were fun. I think it’s fine to tone down the seriousness. Life is serious enough why do our games need to be? I’m look at you COD and Battlefield.
Is there a need? NOPE We can live without, but if they do return i’ll welcome them so as long as no flames…or capes definitely no capes.
Speedboost should give me flaming feet, not a blue aura.
I miss the confetti and cheerful HOORRAAAAAY! when I died in Reach… Made 2 v 5 games so much more enjoyable since I actually grinned a bit when I died.
Even with the birthday Grunt armor effect, it doesn’t really serve much of a purpose beside either getting a good laugh or show off dat -Yoink!- Flaming Recon helmet.

I wouldnt mind a Jakolantern visor on my eva/painted on my helmet
If I go on a Running Riot I want my Spartan to burst into flames NBA Jam style.
Nah, I don’t want to experience Grunt Birthday again.
if they come back, they need to be good and have enough variety so that everyone isn’t using the same few
I’m all for it if 343i have the time to implement it. It increases the amount of customization, keeps in tact with Bungie’s ‘flaming helmet’ mythos and doesn’t harm anybody. I don’t see why it shoudn’t be included.

That sounds like a good idea for some custom games/playlists. Just for fun, it would be good to have obligate armor effects in action sack upon reaching a certain achievement. It works in gametypes like Regicide, Infection and Assault in that it marks specific players. It would be good to see a cloud of stink over The Flood or fire charging from the bomb carriers.

Visual effects are fine, but hearing “YAAAAYYYYY!” with every other kill got obnoxiously annoying.
