Well guys, I tried my best to ask about armor customization during 343s E3 segment on RT’s live stream.
My questions were summarily ignored or given non-answers by people who weren’t developers.
I’m still very wary. So far what we know is confirmed is the REQ packs will play a part in armor customization. In Arena Multiplayer, they will only affect cosmetic things and some will even give players new assassination animations, and in Warzone it will give the players the ability to use the REQ system to summon power weapons and vehicles, and change loadouts.
If the Armor customization specifically is as limited as it was in the Beta(it would truly baffle me if that were the case) that would be incredibly disappointing, but still nothing is confirmed.
I am wondering this myself. I am was recently upset about no BTB at launch, and hoping they don’t limit the armor customization like they did in the beta.
Im sure there will be more armours in the final game
There have been multiple instances of Josh Holmes tweeting that customization in Halo 5 is limited to helmet, visor and body armor. He said they were designing the body armor as single units. Keep in mind these were tweets from before and during the beta but I find it odd that he wouldn’t clarify that the full game would be different if that were the case. I guess we’ll see though.

It’s not about having more armors, its about having more permutations and options for mixing and matching.
Just look at the gamestop pre-order trailer. It kinda seems like armor is limited to helmets and suits. who knows. They probably “didnt have time” for it.
In 343s panel with Rooster Teeth, they had a question session with Adam (no idea who he is with 343) and he made the mention of maps are free, “hats” cost.
I don’t have a link because I just watched in on their youtube live channel off my xbox. It was while they were firing off rapid questions before the next group set up. They were standing in front of a youtube banner.

I know, I was the one who asked the question he responded to.
Adam Kovich is not a developer in 343i, so he knows nothing. He works for Rooster Teeth.
He proceeded to joke about Halo now being a MOBA, so pretty much everything he said is -Yoink-.

That preorder trailer just said that you’d get Lockes armor set. That doesn’t mean anything regarding mix match cusomization and the various parts we can customize.
I was thinking the exact same thing myself. I’m hoping that they just didn’t include full customization in the beta due to time and/or space, but in the final game, it will be included.
Although, if they don’t, I saw a new Armor set that looked a lot like Carter’s Armor from Halo Reach. Looked awesome. I’ll be pretty happy either way.

I won’t be.
Remember how Halo 3 and Reach had elites, but not many people ever used them? I think part of the reason elites were such a minority was because they were only released as sets, and there’s weren’t very many of those sets. People didn’t like them because that had such a low level of personalization.
Why on earth would they take away that level of personalization from their primary character models? That just would not make any sense to me.

That’s pleasing to learn, thanks for the info.
I like reading bout armor
hopefully the armor customization is great.
During Xbox Daily @ E3, Josh Holmes said that some of the things we could unlock through the REQ packs were Helmets and Armor Suits. Which sounds like it’s the same like in the Beta.
Ya’know, taking a few steps back in the personalization department is a stupid -Yoink- decision.

Two possibilities exist, and both of them are pretty irresponsible.
1 ) Armor customization is indeed down to Helmet, Visor, Suit, Primary, Secondary, Emblem.
2 ) It’s as good as or better than Halo 4’s and they have opted to, for reasons unfathomable, do anything but clear up the confusion.
The fact that it hasn’t been definitively stated, “Yes, there are more armor slots than there were in the Beta.” is worrisome.
More options would be nice, but at the same time i’m not going to be looking at myself in a fps where my character also has no background. Again, it’d be nice but i’m not going to be mad, even if they randomly out of no where took away all customizations. HCE and h2 had no option to customize and it wasn’t a big deal.
I’m literally baffled at people caring about armor customization.
It doesn’t have any effect on gameplay, who cares

People want their Spartans to look cool. It does represent them in-game after all.
