They’ve removed our individuality. I’ve never seen a game developer go as far as to hold our freedom of expression ransom for greed since Destiny. That was one of the main reasons I stopped playing Destiny. You’ll look how we want you to look and you’ll pay us just to look like everyone else. Well I’m not. If this doesn’t change I’ll quit playing Halo as well. They should have left the color options out of their monetization.
Need for speed will be trying this next. Give them a mustard yellow, rust, navy blue, Doo Doo brown paint job for free. Then if they want some paint jobs authorized and created by us they will have to pay.
343 you’ve went way to far with this.
They did go too far in my opinion. Honestly, I couldn’t even pay to get the colors I want. And some of the restrictions I don’t understand. Why is the MK VII helmet locked to the MK VII core? It doesn’t seem like it’d clip or anything in MK V [B], and given it’s a free helmet wouldn’t allowing you to use it on MK V [B] (a paid armor core) just make the core more appealing? How does restricting free items like that generate more money? I just don’t understand.
I agree they went way too far. I’m surprised I could put on a robot arm for free. I figure that would cost at least $5 per limb.
It must have been a while since you’ve played Destiny. It’s waaaaaaay better than this right now. You can literally make your own skins out of almost any armor piece and apply it to any other armor. And anyone who’s played the game for even a reasonable amount of hours has hundreds of shaders, from playing not the store.
There is no comparison, Infinite is in another universe in terms of oppressive restriction on customization for monetary reasons.
Yes, I think they’ve missed the mark. I get that it’s F2P, but we should at least be able to choose our colors and textures, not just a bunch of presets. I’d even buy Warframe-style color palettes as long as I get to use it the way I want once I have it.
Also, the armor core system is so unnecessarily restrictive. Let us mix gear like with MCC.
the armour coating system in Infinite is basically if shaders in destiny were restricted to specific classes.
and while Transmog in D2 is…messy in its implementation, the shader system is far more friendly than the system infinite has.
