Armor Core Ideas: ONI & ODST

I’ve been spending a lot of time customizing my Spartan armor cores and I started wondering what type of cores we will be seeing in the future. Seasons being six months long gives us plenty of time to think about what the future holds, so I thought I would share some ideas with everyone.

ODST

I really think an ODST inspired armor core would be amazing. Start with a GEN3 version of Buck’s Helljumper-class armor from Halo 5, then start incorporating ODST armor pieces inspired by various designs throughout the series. Halo 2’s ODST helmet, all of Fireteam Raven’s armor, Dutch and Romeo’s variants of the Helljumper armor would be great options. Once cross core is a thing, the Mark V[B] ODST helmet and Firefall helmets would work great on this core. While 343i has yet to use ODSTs in one of their Halo games, excluding Halo Wars, they did create some concept art for a modern ODST. Now would be the perfect time to bring some of these designs to life via this armor core.

ONI Watershed

This armor core would be a really sleek and extremely sophisticated armor built by ONI’s Watershed division. The core would essentially be a GEN3 armor inspired by prototype armors like Locke’s Hunter-class and Vale’s Copperhead-class armor from Halo 5. It would be futuristic, incorporating ONI’s most advanced prototype technologies, including alien/xeno technologies. Then we could see the return of some Forerunner themed armors, such as a GEN3 variant of the Prefect armor from Halo 4 or the ancient human inspired Hellcat-class armor from Halo 5. I just like the idea of a special operator experimenting with super expensive, highly experimental armors the rank and file Spartan-IVs would never see.

All sounds good. If they did Vales armour it is a shut up and take my money situation.

I am surprised we haven’t seen Season 3 armour core leaks actually. It’s not all that far away (Nov), four or so months and I am sure we knew most of the armour cores before then.

Although Rakhasa did manage to slip under the radar.

The model so far does seem to be that each of the canon cores is a variant or “branch” of the Spartan core. So, your idea of a drop assault Spartan or a Stealth/Spy Spartan makes a lot of sense.
