Hi there, my name is Steven, and I am a recent high school graduate planning to pursue a career in conceptual design for various forms of media, particularly for video games. I believe that one of the best ways to train in concept art is to build original ideas off of existing stories, and as such, I have drawn many concepts based off of video games such as Halo. I have decided to begin sharing my Halo related conceptual sketches here for feedback and for suggestions for improvement. Due to the restriction of being unable to post images directly on the forums, I have provided image links to the artwork. All of them can also be found on my deviantArt here.
6/13/2013- All I have prepared to show for now is a helmet redesign the way I saw fit.
MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/TACOP (Tactical Operations)
"A series of armor variants made in cooperation of ONI’s Material Group and Naphtali Contractor Corporation, designed for immediate on the fly connection with command, capable of bypassing the most powerful and secure Covenant and Insurrectionist channels and scramblers to provide visual aid for handling operations. Also recognized as Operator Mk II by Naphtali, it is the result of high demand for the reintroduction of the previous Operator Mk I variant requested by various Spartan IVs and the surviving Spartan IIIs. The Mark 1 design was recycled from older design documentation and combined with many of the internal aspects of the Scanner variant helmet. Several advanced new command network module variants resulted from experimentation with the TactOp helmets, primarily used not only for it’s intended helmet model but also for Scanner, Enforcer, and Commando helmets."
When I heard Operator, my favorite Halo Reach helmet, was returning in Halo 4, I was ecstatic. I was extremely disappointed however by the Gen. II design, it resembled Security more than anything else. I decided to use Scanner, the closest thing to Operator other than Enforcer, as reference.
6/18/2013- Added some color and design variations to the TACOP helmet, will be shaded soon.

CNM-01A:
"The first of the series of command network modules produced for the TACOP helmet, initially designed to replicate the success of the previous generation’s design, such as the immobile highly placed forehead mount design, though with the added lens above the user’s left eye. Designed for a wide range of tactical ranges, night vision, thermal vision, and the direct camera feed to command."
CNM-03B-R:
"Part of the Beta division of CNM variants, utilizing an asymmetrical design with the dominant scope lens over the user’s dominant eye. It also utilizes the Scanner’s vertical camera filter in utilization in search and rescue operations. Like most other variants, such as the CNM-01A, it is immobile and mounted higher just above the visor."
CNM-04A:
"Another successful CNM design of the alpha symmetrical unit, particularly designed primarily for defensive long range combat. The two long range scopes are placed towards the sides to increase the length of the camera’s barrel increasing the distance. Unlike the previous designs in the alpha series, it is able to rotate above the wearer for easier maneuvering and visibility in close quarters, and covers a larger portion of the visor similar to the Scanner helmet’s fashion."
More original designs are in the works.
