Armor Colors

Halo has been known for a plethora of features as well as it’s bright color schemes for armor customization. Over each installment, armor has gotten less and less shiny (I miss the shininess that your armor had in Halo 1 and 2, but that’s just my preference) and once Halo: Reach came out, the armor customization got a bit more of a grittiness that was pretty awesome. Halo 4 had some really killer armor color selection. I particularly liked the basic blue, and I’ve always loved having a bright orange spartan.
With this being the topic, I’m disappointed that cosmetically, the color options have been lackluster, with Burnt Sienna being kind of lame with the exception of a few certain armor variants that I think it works with. I’m not saying to get rid of Burnt Sienna though.
I feel that as 343i has stated constant updates throughout Halo 5’s life span, we should get a cosmetic update that adds more colors to the color palette. Bring bright orange(s) back as well as Sage and Olive. It may not have been a popular color by show of players, but Olive has always been Master Chief’s armor color; it was a realistic color for Spartans to have, and just because players don’t always use something doesn’t seem like a good enough reason to me to not include it.
TL;DR
With specific examples aside, it would be cool to re-do the color palette in Halo 5: Guardians, both by adding more colors to the available palette for use, or even implement a color wheel that lets one customize their armor color by the shade. It’s just a thought.
At the very least I feel like some colors should be re-included into the game, and it needs to be redone in that the colors are organized in a long, irritating line. Getting to each color quickly was easily done in Halo 2, 3, and Reach, where colors were in rows and columns, not just one long row like in Halo’s 4 and 5.
This topic is really just here as a cosmetic upgrade that obviously doesn’t make or break the game, but it would definitely be nice to have.

I agree, the game could really use it.

Yeah, i’m not 100% satisfied with the colors they implemented in the final game.

Yes. This is something that would be a good post-launch update. I miss the old color row/column format.

somewhere they said they are going to add new one sometimes soon but can’t find sauce now

Heard it would happen in the cartographers’gift from someone on the forums but I want to see them. I personally miss olive and sage sooooooohohoho bad

Yea i wish they had like a lood red color and a like black black color like halo 1 or halo 3s infected colors. So i like the shiny yet really back color of black not steel. And inwant a blood red. And i do some of the shiny colors and these colors makes visors really dark now.

I agree.

no sage is unacceptable

Coal instead of black and whatever that dark red (can’t think of the name) instead of red is unacceptable

Yeah I seriously need my sage. I’m tired of the neon caution sign traffic cone colors

You had me at sage

I wish they looked better in the menu too they don’t look like the actual colors, I like them better whenever that odd lighting glitch happens.

Or on waypoint

IMO they colors look actual on waypoint, the black is black rather than a greenish. The lighting in the 2d render does need to be a bit darker though because they look like toy soldiers on here.

They are supposed to be correcting this in the December update… Which may or may not be today

I’m not a particular fan of the coloured under suit. The leathery part under the armour plating. I’d much prefer this to be all black but seeing as though they clearly have the option to change the colour in game, it would be nice if we had a third colour palette for it

Not satisfied. Should be more.
ALSO, instead of REQs with different PAINT APPLICATIONS we should have gotten different paint schemes to unlock or in the options with the option of leaving armor blank… These paints schemes are ugly and in reality we have like 50 armors with 3-4 different paint schemes making it about 200 armors to unlock. STUPID from 343i.
Also, in LAST GEN we had armor customization where we could have chosen each armor part to equip.
Here in NEXT GEN? Nope. Nothing. Nada. Not even markings on your armor, because F U.

This being the next-gen game it should give us even MORE armor customization, even give us to choose undersuit and color… Not even mentioning customizing armor parts because it should have been implemented from the start
Reach and Halo 4 on X360 had great customization and it’s VERY DISAPPOINTING to see such primitive customization in next-gen Halo 5… or rather lack thereof.

Same except for coal
