Armor Coatings Were A Mistake

BP isn’t a shop item though. These are items that are all earnable. Not buying specific items. Especially now that the BP can pay for itself I would consider them included.

Wrong you have to buy credits to purchase the battle pass which is a part of the shop so it definitely should count as you have to use said credits to make those credits back with the season 2 pass

Also the battle pass is a part of the shop as its in the top left of the shop ui

Completely true. Content is not earnable because it’s blocked by the 2nd paywall. Makes zero sense why anyone would defend this and then act like it’s not. I feel like 343i mislead us again because they claimed we’d be able to earn stuff and yet we can’t.

I don’t get why not just have the standard color palette we’ve always had and they could have just sold patterns, armor material (Chrome, rust, etc) but “sigh” at this point we’re all just beating a dead horse

You have to input money in some way to attain the battle pass. That makes it a paid item, which puts it on the same level as cosmetic shop items.

This is such a weird hill to die on and I wish you’d find something better to do because reading your shill posts all over the place is getting old.

A correction to your statement, its not the numbers that matter, its how much you can use with what you have that matters.

Halo Infinite feels lacking due to how excessively restrictive its customisation systems are, compared to reach which is much more free flowing with its customisation.

Umm the number matters. Any competent AAA developer should know when they lose 99% of their population in barely 2 months and fails to recover within 6 months then there clearly doing something wrong. When the numbers are that bad that the dev should start questioning why and learn from their mistakes by listening to the complaints instead of claiming they will then doing the opposite.

I was reffering to customisation parts available and how they are used. not population numbers.

Umm ok well customization is important and is very restrictive in it’s current state. It’s actually kind of depressing that I can’t even earn Mark VI since it was blocked behind the stupid ‘premium’ BP so for me that was the last straw then they blocked whatever remaining content was free in S1 and restricted it to premium only. Far as I’m concerned I paid for the base game and I despise the idea of F2P stripping the game apart to the bare minimum. The system is not engaging and depressing that 343i would leave it in this state plus what they did to the Watchdog skin was frustrating.

…What? I seriously do not understand how people come to these conclusions.

F2P is 100% the cause of all of infinite’s flaws, short-comings and dying population. Every time competition is copied, 343 guarantees a short life expectancy. Hopefully the third time is the charm and they may actually learn this lesson.

Mmmm gonna disagree. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about functionality/feature issues that really have nothing to do with F2P.

Oh absolutely those problems are there, no question. However, imagine how many issues would’ve been fixed before launch if none of the dev teams were spending bandwidth working on anything tied to microtransactions. It’s not a coincidence to me that even when the game isn’t functioning correctly, the in-game store works flawlessly near-100% of the time. Even if they repurposed dev time spent on armor coatings and just provided a color customization system, many prevalent issues would’ve been fixed long ago.

That’s the same idea I’ve had. Sadly doubt we’ll get lucky enough for them to implement such a thing but it would ultimately satisfy both sides. Those that want it get full color customization back and 343 still has reason to sell the coatings as special patterns.

You don’t know how software development works. Clearly. Don’t ever try and suggest how easy or hard ‘coding’ something would be. You absolutely have no clue. Why do people like you just talk out of your butt?

In fact, having armor coatings creates MORE of a development hassle than an abstract system that just lets the user modify them.

I completely disagree. Armor costings dont require a system to be developed to load custome texture packs that players can create. It pushes more of the word towards the visual designers. The rest is just displaying what they create.

Also i cant seem to find the place where i was stating how easy or hard something would be. You need drugs to chill yourself out XD. Someone woke up to an empty box of corn flakes this morning.

In one sense Armor Coatings were not a mistake.

Rather, they were a deliberate choice, to make as much money as possible.

Yeah armor coatings is just a huge mistake because it bottlenecks player expression and customization. Which seems to be the theme for infinite. Giving us more options, but also less options and all those options are locked behind a paywall.

I still can’t look the way I want to look no matter what. Even if I gave all the money required for all the customization currently available I still wouldn’t be able to make my Spartan actually look the way I want them to look. Between crosscore locking currently and not being able to make my Spartan primarily black with dark blue secondary colors I’m never going to be able to look how I would want to look. This means that I’m never going to be satisfied with the customization and if I can’t look the way I want to look and I’m not satisfied why would I pay any amount of money for anything. I’m not going to be happy with it therefore I’m not going to pay for it.

Team Envy kit? Cloud 9? Shadow sorel?

There was a target promo that had a real nice black blue and white coating i think, unfortunately all the promo stuff was a year before the game launched
