Yup I 100% agree with this statement.
I am irritated that customization has gone this horrible route where we no longer can choose our own colors, we get armor colors that looked scratchy or washed out on armor (except for the HCS skins), and that our armor (Tenrai being excluded) is tied to armor cores now.
Customization should have followed past Halos like Halo 3/Halo Reach but here we sadly are.
Like some of these coatings look amazing hell I really love the cloud 9 coating and the metallic blue on it but it annoys the -Yoink!- out of me how its tied to one core and I can’t customize my armor without it being removed
Yeah I 100% understand I actually love the color combination of white and red so the HCS skin sentinel meets that mark pretty spot on and sadly I cannot choose the armor to use with it because it is considered an armor set.
I do not know why 343i decided to create these problems but they need to fix their own mistakes before they turn off a lot of players come Dec 8th.
Like armor cores shouldn’t be a thing as all it does is limit customization like what I was expecting with cores was certain body types were tied to the cores but it’s worse
And it’s a system that can be easily replaced as bots aren’t locked by the core system as THEY can mix and match different core pieces
I can’t say this enough or any louder, What I think 343 has achieved with Halo Infinite is really incredible, a lot of love and affection has been poured into this game in almost every aspect from 343 and they deserve a lot of praise in that particular regard. However, I’m sure we all pretty much dislike the progression system in Infinite. Had 343 removed the monetisation of the battle pass and all other cosmetics and tied them in with an actual progression system like in MCC, I understand they want to reach as many people as possible with this game so which is why they made it free, however had they charged you full price for buying the game (multiplayer and Campaign), or own Game Pass, I don’t think anyone would have complained, in fact, with Game Pass, because it is one of the key advantages that Xbox has over it’s competitors, (Over 18 Million Subscribers) they still would have reached out towards a very widespread audience.
While I very much agree with the OPs statement, and think its horrible that armor pieces and coatings are tied to specific cores, I very much hope 343 is working to address this. Can you link the topic that claims 343 is working on this please?
Emblems and icons shouldn’t be given out separately for player stamps, weapon stamps, or vehicle stamps either. That’s really awkward padding. It doesn’t feel like “having it” when I can only put it on one thing until I unlock it two more times.
I strongly disagree. That means that the feature already exists and that preventing players from doing that is an artificial restriction. Well, that or you can unlock the same pieces of armor separately for multiple armor cores.
Exactly, they should simply be chest pieces like previous Halo games that can be used with any other variation of armor piece. In MCC and H5 I literally never saw another spartan wearing my exact armor setup, in Infinite someone else has my armor every other match. Its a damn shame.
Does that happen with the bot armor? I can’t say that I’ve noticed it.
You’re probably right that because the “core” system changes the playermodel (I think? That doesn’t sound right but I dunno?) or at least where the armor parts attach then it where the armor needs to go does need to be moved. Still, I can’t really tell the difference between the first two cores other than the helmet.
Yh, they are sorting that but they are testing it on bots first since players are completely diffrent, but I’m sure they’d allow us, Think armour cores being a suit of armour and the peices can go on that said suit
