I personally dont mind the armor coatings but id rather the traditional color customization system because it gave us more creative freedom. 343 should bring back the color customization system and let us choose between using the armor coatings or traditional color customization system for our spartan or let us customize the colors on the coatings. Also let us use our armor coatings on all of the armor cores i wanna use my midnight frost armor coating on my Mark V armor core

I agree with you 100% until last week I was forced to wear something that wasn’t my colors because they didn’t have black/dark grey with navy blue. The new Steel Series gave me that and I’m happier with how I look now, but I still don’t like the coating system. Took a year and a half to be my colors. Freaking ridiculous! I’m honestly surprised that I wasn’t forced to pay for it.
This system exists for one reason and one reason only. To make money. They don’t care about player expression and customization. They care about what you’re willing to pay for it. And they know people will pay for shiny colors and I hate it.

it would be great if we could make our own coating, there still isn’t a yellow with purple coating in the game. and if there was, it would probably not be available on the core I use

As bad as the game was, but, i would have loved for Halo to have something similar for a customization as Anthem had. Changing every single piece of armor with material and style and color and everything… It was awesome.

They would rather sell it to you in the store now instead of letting you freely do it yourself.
Also, notice how there’s no black & white armors available ? They won’t give us the freedom to customize without including these colors

They finally made a Coating for the game that consists of a Nice Red and a Nice Purple ( albeit I’d prefer a solid purpose to that striped one personally ), been wanting that combo for my Mark V[b] Spartan since launch as that’s the color combo I used in Reach…

I’ve been in the same boat. Been wanting my white and purple color scheme. Finally got something akin to it this season, but just for the SPI core.
I agree with you about the steel coatings. They are exactly what I wanted. My only wish is to see other colors like yellow, orange, pink and purple.
Anyway, this isn’t an excuse and we definitely need a normal customization, alongside with the coating system.

The current coating system is depressing given how good HI looks. If we could just choose the color of our coatings then I’d definitely say the system is justified, given that cross core is possible. I know they gotta make money, but there’s gotta be some other way. The free to play model in HI is just toxic, aggressive, and not player friendly when it comes to armor coatings. Love the game, they’re doing a good job on fixing it up, but this side of things leaves a lot to be desired. I’d pay for maps, or campaign DLC, anything to make you guys reconsider this current coating system and I’m sure everyone agrees.
I also wanna add I don’t like how the armor coatings apply to the under suits as well I think that it should just apply to armor and the undersuits should be unchanged
