The new armor/vehicle/weapon coating system is looking awesome! They stated at E3 that there will be 1000’s of combinations available and we all know that there are unlock codes linked to specific product promotions. However, has 343 mentioned at all if there will be some Legacy unlocks for completing achievements or milestones in all the previous games? I think it would be cool if on launch day when you boot up your screen lights up with a bunch of unlocks for completing past achievements.
Not sure if they mentioned anything yet regrading this.
Thanks
I hope there will be. Like earning something when you complete MCC on Legendary.
I just made a thread about this.

Exactly! That’s what I would like to see.

I hope they do this, I am working my way through the older games now in case there are any rewards back.
I think it’s likely that the MCC will receive similar treatment. With its constant updates, it would be easy for them to slip in some code to facilitate a similar unlock.
That said, hitting 152 is no easy task, and all that you get is an armour coating. I can’t think of anything other than Legendary Solo Campaigns that come kinda close, but that’s more about skill than dedication.

I forsee unlocks (skins, emblems etc) tied to the upcoming Waypoint app changes.
Halo achievement points, being part of a Company, LASO, online rank, collectibles. They can all be tracked in Waypoint currently and could have rewards.
I still remember when at the time of Xbox 360, the version we had of Halo Waypoint included a whole system of rewards for getting achievements from all Halos, in the form of emblems and armor.
I also remember everything that had to be done to get the Recon armor (obtaining achievements) or the Hayabusa armor (obtaining skulls). I miss those challenges.

Wasn’t the Hayabusa armour given for 1000 gamerscore?
I really want this lol, i’m doing all halos on legendary solo, and i really want some armour coating or a complete armour set, like the helioskrill in halo 5 (one of the best good-looking armours in the game tbh)

If I remember correctly, at the time I had to do a series of challenges to get the hidden skulls of Halo 3. I do not know if over time they changed the way to get the armor.

That is what I hope to see. If we have the achievements completed then you get special unlocks. Provided they can get the stats to sync correctly for everyone. I re-installed my 360 game discs on my Xbox One X since I am using a Series X as my main now. After installing H3, ODST and Reach and playing a few games my stats are still not updating on Waypoint even though I have 100% gamerscore completion. Waypoint says that I have not played the game.

I have 100% completion, but I cant get Waypoint to sync the stats for some reason. Still showing as never played the games.
Hopefully they clarify which achievements soon so we can all get to the grind. I would love to have a customization that the majority of players don’t have so I can feel special lol.

Vidmasters… those take me back. My friends and I still talk about that. It really required some dedication to get Recon. The ODST Firefight achivement was no easy task. We were ecstatic when we finished it.

Honestly I think the most difficult thing they could do which many players wouldn’t get (other than SR152 which is just a time sink and no real difficulty) would probably be the LASO playlists. The achievements for the LASO completions in the MCC sit at around 0.09% of players.
At the moment I can’t bring myself to start them, but if there were some unlocks tied to them I would give them a bash.

I’m proud to say my brother and I unlocked Hayabusa back in the day together

I recently completed Halo Reach at Legendary Co-op and my Waypoint data has yet to be updated, the same has happened to me with Halo CE Remastered, I’m starting to worry a bit that those stats will end up being abandoned.
If they are going to abandon those statistics, then their thing would be to delete them from the Waypoint. It does not make sense to have statistics that do not show the real data.

I did it with my ex-partner and a group of friends I had at that time. I miss the friends I made years ago…

I wish I was older around that time. I was more focused on Forge and Campaign in the early days of Halo 3, didn’t get around to playing multiplayer until like…2009? I was nine years old. I did the challenges for Hayabusa, finding the skulls, but never was able to unlock Recon via vidmaster.
I’m proud to say that I did get Helioskrill and 152 though
