As we already know, we can no longer choose colors in our own way. Instead 343 took the Halo CE route of only letting us choose preset color schemes, which is a big downgrade. 343, instead of coatings, you could have took a step further in color customization by adding in a circle or slider full of colors to choose from, with there also being saturation settings and the ability to change the color on any part of the armor. Please bring back normal color customization.
It’s funny how 343 said you guys had millions of options when it comes to customization.
Armor coatings would be fine if we could creat our own.
What a new and exciting insight. I hope this thread gets hundreds of responses and several other threads just like it so we don’t ever get over it and move on.
Barely anyone posted on the coating as a main topic, and if we don’t post about it 343 won’t do something about the coating feature.
There’s always one self righteous pos who has to make sure everyone knows they are tired of reading the same old, tired issues. Instead of you, know…just ignoring it and living their life.
The big issue is just lack of variety. There are maybe a handful of interesting ones involving military camos, but otherwise a lot of them are just solid colors with some matte/gloss effect.
They’re not for me, but the E-Sports skins have lots of unique looks like left side red, right side blue, one arm being an entirely different color etc.
It do be bad when you compare it to another FTP Scifi game and how they monetise the colours, via colour pallets that we can use as we please, what was that game called again? Warframe I believe.
Sarcasm aside I agree that coatings, especially in their current iteration are greedy and excessively restrictive, goes against their promise of player expression being better than ever, I’d rather a system like warframe’s or anthems, that allow freedom of use for the colours, while charging either for A) the pallet (ie colour and theme to choose from) or B) Material impact on the colours (Anthem while a failure of a full price game did have this neat feature going for it, impacting the colour scheme of the javelins and how those colours could appear either matte, metallic etc etc, while not heavily monetised, it was still monetised.)
