Armor Base Predictions

Halo 3 was the first that allowed us to truly customize the armor of our Spartans.
Halo Reach was a massive upgrade upon that as well.
Both of these weren’t really doing that much however. Since all you were really choosing was your helmet and what modifications you had applied to your armor in other areas. Halo Infinite however is going to do something else because it will let us choose what actual suit of armor your Spartan is wearing and THEN allow you to modify and augment the set to your liking. The question is what Armor Bases are going to be available in Halo Infinite?

  • Mark VI Gen-III (if 343 will let us actually look like John ever again) - Mark VII Gen-III - Mark V(B) Gen-I - YoroiThose above are the ones that have been confirmed as of the first flight, though Mark VI Gen-III is somewhat unlikely since 343 didn’t let us play in the Mythic-Class MJOLNIR that John wears in the Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians campaigns (“Mark VI MOD”).

But the following are what I predict will be Armor Bases that will be available at launch / released in future seasons of Halo Infinite -

  • Recruit Gen-III (if they end up having a default armor base variant) - ODST - Helljumper - Hunter - Copperhead - Technician - Argus - Hermes - Centurion / Cohort - Mark IV Gen-I - Mark V Gen-I - Mark V Zeta - Mark VI Gen-I - Mark VI Scarred - SPI Mk.I - SPI Mk.II - GUNGNIR - FOTUS - Hayabusa (if the crossover between Halo and Ninja Gaiden gets approved again somehow)

There’s alot of possibilities, we also have to look at the possibility of having new cores to work with as well. It seems 343 is not afraid to reference old concept art, so we could potentially see role-specific cores, like a ghillied up core centered around stealth/sniping, or one that’s built atop the Atlas armor which is bulkier, tankier. Maybe an ONI armor core with some really advanced looking armors.
I have no doubt Mark V is gonna come back, maybe Mark IV too.

It would be neat if 343 made THIS an armor core called “Mark V Prototype”, in reference to the original Spartan design that was going to be in Halo back when it was going to be a Mac OS RTS game before Microsoft got a hold of Bungie. (Render is courtesy of the Installation 01 fan-game)

This fan art of the Mark VI Desert Scheme would also make a great Armor Core design that could be called “Mark VI Alpha” or perhaps even “Mark VII Prototype” since it reminds one of a merger between Mark VI and Mark VII.
