Armor and Helmet (OtherFixesToo) Organization Tree

After the seeing a ton of requests for better organization of the customization UI, I thought of an “improvement” shortly after the outcry.

(Too bad I didn’t bring it up earlier, could’ve seen better amounts of feedback)Nothing personal to the people who suggested it but the sorting by rarity for armors would be pretty annoying since it’d half-fix the problem I see. Now sorting by rarities could be added to weapon skins (since they’re properly categorized), VISRs (since there is nothing different to categorize), Stances (same as VISR’s), Emblems (same as VISRs and Stances, numbers should also appear in order), and Assassinations (same as the last three) and those problems would be solved.

My main issue is the armors. My suggestion is that there is a tree system. When selecting armors or helmets, it would provide a (smaller text) drop down menu of each armor TYPE in order of rarity (Recruit first, Air Assault second). It would display the large text format of armor title and rarity in the bottom left corner as usual. When scrolling through the list, it would show off the base version of the highlighted armor (Soldier rather than Soldier Rebel). When the armor type is selected, it brings you to the current picture menu, only this time it’s just the one armor type and all it’s reskins (in order of rarity of course).

This would:

  • Show the people who care how many armors are in the game in a simple manner - Greatly decrease the time of looking for what armor to use - And most importantly… GREATLY DECREASE THE TIME OF LOOKING FOR WHAT ARMOR TO USE I think that last part seemed a bit harsh, but in all seriousness…Thanks for reading if you have. I’d like to see some feedback though, just so we can figure out the “perfect” organization of armor menus.

Seems logical enough. The armours definitely need to be organised. I personally dislike how at the moment in order to preview an armour on your spartan it is organised by unlock history, which no person is going to remember with 200+ armours. If I wish to view by rarity I have to equip each armour to see how it looks, which is really time consuming.
I like your categorization off the base model, multiple times I decided I wanted to rock a noble or MK VI helmet but didn’t know which colour scheme I wanted. This system would make it a lot easier to compare.

I agree with the amount of armor in the game this organization can really help

I think it is ridiculous that we have this much armor in the game to begin with (even more so with the lack of customization options). I like your organization idea, just wish they didn’t over saturate this it like they have.

Agreed. I think it was organised like that in Halo 4 wasn’t it?

Thanks for the responses players.

Sort of. It was organized based on level of unlock (properly) and skin variants would be listed right after the basic set. This would hopefully be an improvement on Reach’s and 4’s armor menu organization.

Yes you had the base armor and the variations underneath it
