Armor And Custimazation In Halo 4

Well i thought i’d bring up the subject since nobody else seem to have mentioned it.

I think that the Armor in Halo 4 should be more like halo 3. Where you earn/unlock armor for finding skulls, getting achievements, and complete certain tasks. Like Katana and Hayabusa and Officer…

The Customization should be unique and different from any previous halo title. for example, as you get higher in rank (This part is ONLY if the game has a 1-50 or something similar! Or Reach’s System but for Customization instead of armor pieces) the more parts of your body you can customize. So lets say you start off and can only customize your Helmet, colors, Gender, Species, And Service tag. once you get a little higher in rank you can Customize helmet, Chest, Gloves, Boots, Colors, Genders, Species, and Service Tag. But once you reach the Highest rank you can customize everything (All previously mentioned PLUS, Visr color, Firefight voice,Utility, Knee Caps, Etc.). So that way ranking up is more rewarding. Because honestly other then getting a 50 next to your name in Halo 3 what was so special about getting to 50. Did you get a reward other than the # next to your name?

These are just ideas, and i’m brainstorming. They are not set in stone.

(Remember if this doesn’t sound good, post your ides/suggestions)

But there is one thing i’m certain of… i don’t want another Halo 3 Recon epidemic… lol

Megadisagree. Armor should not be tied to rank at all other than a few pieces unlocked at career milestones.

Other than that, I’d love to see the Halo 3 system return as a method of unlocking certain pieces.

I want my freaking Katana back. Yes, I’m serious I loved it in halo 3 and i wants it back. Please, oh god please give me my Katana!

I like your idea. If the ranking system is based on skill, when you see someone with a lot of modifications, you’d know they are serious -Yoink-.

Maybe for non ranked game types you could have another character so you could actually get the awesome customizations without being awesome at the game.

Also, we should get a lot more customization options. We should be able to change armour parts all over the characters body, there could be the primary armour pieces and then the accessories like bullet raps and stuff like that. We should also be able to change colours all over the body.

I didn’t mean armor gets unlocked by rank, just what parts of your body you can customize. That way the game gets more fun as you rank up. And remember i’m just suggesting. Although i agree that armor like certain pieces getting unlocked by rank like reach is a stupid/bad idea.

I still megadisagree. Armor customization shouldn’t be tied to rank like that. You shouldn’t have to get to a certain rank just to customize a certain part of your character because it’s no fun to have to grind your way to a rank just to be able to do something, and second because, just like Reach, it would just be a way to squeeze more play time out of the community.

I dont think rank determining which armor you can customize is a good idea.

Well my idea is only if the game has 1-50 skill system. The more parts of there body they have customized the more badass they have to be. And In game and out of game you’d be able to tell a general, form a recruit… But if the game DOESN’T have a 1-50 or something similar then just disregard my idea.

But it would make it more rewarding to rank up. like “Yes! I Finally reached Major!, now i can customize my Visr color, etc.”

> I want my freaking Katana back. Yes, I’m serious I loved it in halo 3 and i wants it back. Please, oh god please give me my Katana!

Agreed. But they should also make a armor perm like a dual Katana were you have two swords on your back at once! Like this https://d44ytnim3cfy5.cloudfront.net/assets/1116558/lightbox/78f4bae70620d785a96d4fb326b669bc.jpg?1277193913

The 1-50 system would be even worse when tied to customization than the Reach one. Some players would never even get the chance to fully customize their Spartan. When customization is tied to rank it leaves many players out of using it to the fullest.

When someone wins, someone looses too. Not everyone would be able to customizae all there armor, no matter how hard the enitre community worked for.

Good point never looked at it like that. Now it does sound bad lol. My bad. but luckily this is all just ideas and were not actually talking about whats actually in the game.

I don’t care if you unlock armor based on rank or from completing achievements. However, what about those people who end up buying Halo 4 and not having xbox live? If they want to unlock armor how will they do that? That was one problem in halo 3. You had to have xbox live to get all armor pieces. Change that and I think I should be satisfied.

I think if there is no 1-50 skill system you should be able to unlock armor for completing achivements or finding a hidden object such as the skulls in Halo 3. Maybe you can get armor for finding some kind of terminal or forerunner artifact.

I think some armor should be unlocked by rank (the most epic armors), some by achievements (med epicness), and some by credits like reach had. (Least epic). and that if you had the katana in halo 3, you should get it in halo 4, and make unlocks in 4 for getting all achievements in the previous games, and put it all together (including 4) to have an uber set.
