armor ability ideas

one of my ideas is a small camera in the corner of your screen and it allows you to view any of your team maits one at the time so you can see if they are in trouble or if u both have mikes and your looking for a weapon you team mait could say “hey i found one look at my screen to find it”.

raveling hook is my next idea it allows you to go to the edge of a cliff and climb down it with a safty rope as fast as you want so you can get down with out injery also if theres a massive fight going on and you fall off the edge of a cliff it could save your life and you can climb back up when you feel like it. i like this one because think how funny it would be if you attached it to a falcan.

the next idea is called pretender where you can look like your aponents for limeted time you can use this to walk in your enemys base and take the flag but be quick because if some on eles in their and your pretender effect runs out your -Yoinked!-.

next one is called Artifitial intelegence also known as AI you target an enemy and then your AI shows you his health bar and bullet count and grenades count but not their armor ability and not what weapon or grenades they have.

time distortion bubble it looks like a bubble shielf but if the enemy walks in it will slow down time for them but the user will still be abel to move normaly.

thats my ideas i might put more on if any come to mind sorry about my text i am dyslexic also what are your ideas.

Lol this.

They might have them, because Master chief had a jetpack in the trailer. So it might happen.

LOL none of these I’m sorry though.

It wasn’t a jetpack, they were 0G thrusters. They’re standard for the Mark VI armor.

Sorry man, but you are mostly going to get replies in this thread railing against the inclusion of armor abilities to begin with. The anti-AA protest movement operates heavily in the Halo 4 section of the forums.

Anyway, I think some type of grappling hook would be really fun. I might replace the jetpack with it. Basically, it could be used to reach specific vantage points on the map to get higher ground. For balance reasons, I think it should only be able to grapple onto specific points of a map or maybe one kind of surface. So you could only use it to get to places 343 designed you to. It would work best for “shortcut” purposes, not for letting players with a grappling hook go to area of the map that others who have a different ability active cannot.

This is just an idea that could work if balanced. For the record, I’m not saying it should be in the game.

  1. Teammates have a waypoint above their head that serves that same purpose, just you can’t see what they see, but you can still see where they are.

  2. It’s a cool idea, but chief isn’t affected by fall damage, so the only real use would be if you fall off or getting up some place that probably is already easy to get up to in the first place, otherwise it’s not meant to be accessible.

  3. That does sound sort of cool also, as it’s like the spy in TF2, but honestly I can just see that leading to TK’ing more because you aren’t sure who is your team mate, and who isn’t.

  4. If it doesn’t display weapon, grenade type or AA, what use is it really? Just because you know how much ammo and health some guy has doesn’t make a difference, especially if you are running around with a DMR and have good aim, in which case you will hit the head after the shields pop and health will be negated by that one shot, and ammo really doesn’t matter if you don’t even know what weapon they have unless you are already in their face anyways.

  5. How exactly would that work, especially since if someone sees it, they probably aren’t going to go charging in like a madman, and will rather just avoid it?

In the end, they are cool concepts but really serve no important purpose. Then again, I’m one who hates AA’s anyways so there’s probably a little bias.

I hope there are no armor abilities in Halo 4. They were ok in the Reach campaign, but they made the multiplayer really unbalanced. I think for 4 it should just be guns, grenades and melee. It would be interesting to see some advanced hand to hand combat in the game though, instead of the standard slamming the butt of your weapon into the body of your enemy.

How are AAs unbalanced? Everyone has the exact same access to them. If you think one is OP then you can use it, but so can you’re enemy. If two players are OP, then neither has an advantage over the other. Thus making neither player OP. If you choose an AA that is less useful for the map or gametype and get killed, don’t blame the other player’s AA for being OP. You could have chosen to use that AA too. So it comes down to choice, timing and skill. This is always what Halo multiplayer always has been about.

AAs certainly change the balance and add another pillar to the “Halo formula,” but they aren’t unbalanced.

As far as your hand to hand combat suggestion goes, that could be cool. That said, it has potential to slow down the gameplay pacing more than any AA ever did.

Reasons for opinion? Discussion of pro and cons? Who need 'em when you’ve got access to bigger font sizes and the color blue.

The ability to reason alone justifies my “opinion.”

Well played, sir. I still disagree with you, but well played.

OH, HELL NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!!

No AA’s in Halo 4. And chief having a jetpack in a trailer doesn’t mean a thing.

Its a 0-G Thruster pack, standard on the Mark VI.

Raveling hook can be super fun to use specially when a random falcon came in front of you then hook it and then you started sniping the whole enemy team until they notice you.
