I was thinking of how fun it was in Crackdown 1 to be able to jump in the air and then pound into the ground to cause a shock-wave of damage.
I think something like this would be a fun, practical, and well balanced type of ability to be in Halo 4, 5, or 6. I said 5 or 6, because I think it might be to late for 343 to add such a thing at this point to Halo 4.
The armor ability could be called Ground-Pound, it would be a ability that’s power is determined by how high in the air you are when you activate it. The higher up you are when you activate it, the more coverage area the impact would have and the more damage it would do.
Also when you hit the ground you would cause a emp to happen, much like armor lock does.
But there of course would need to be drawbacks to such a powerful ability, to balance it out.
After impacting the ground, you would be slowed down, much like when someone hijacks your vehicle, if you jump from to high a place you would be killed automatically once you hit the ground, the recharge time for the armor ability would be between 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds.
The kind of medal for getting such a kill could be called demolisher, it’s picture could be a spartan doing a downwards punch with a shockwave underneath him.
I’ll update this post if people think it’s a good/cool idea. I’ll try to draw up a picture of the medal if people would want me to.

Any decent player would just jump to escape the “pounding” and based on how useless it was in Crysis, better not use it. It was a cool idea, but to balance it the shockwave blast was so narrow you had to land literary on somebody to make it effective.

This shock-wave blast could do as much damage and area effect as a tank, depending on how high up in the air you were when you activated it.
