Just like how in Halo 3 you had equipment, in Halo 5 instead of completely getting rid of AAs put them to good use by making them map pickups.
For example, armor abilities like jetpack and PV are very useful therefore people would have to fight for it if they really wanted it. This would give Halo 5 the arena style shooter aspect that it needs.
Armor abilities evolved out of equipment in Halo 3, but equipment wasn’t as disruptive to gameplay as armor abilities. Equipment was one time use, and equipment wasn’t as utterly gamebreaking as active camp, Promethean Vision, or jetpack.
I honestly wouldn’t care if Halo 3’s equipment got thrown into the game if it was implemented the exact same way. Otherwise, it needs to go completely.

The 2nd part of my post explains itself. It means not everyone likes them. A large group of people do not like AA’s. So if I play I want to play where it’s classic.

@pantsaregood: active camo has been around since H:CE.
As load outs, we all know the game breaking consequences, so everyone feels that placing them on the map will make everything better but i disagree. Placing armor/spartan abilities on map would definitely be better than load outs but i see one problem with this idea. Placing abilities on the map will clutter the map with an abundance of pick ups. We already have weapons and power ups, adding abilities will disorganize gameplay. Weapons and power ups have been used in halo as a movement incentive that breaks up camping and provides an engaging experience. pick ups both as power weapons and power ups work because they pull players to locations of interest so that teams came face off in these locations. if we add more pick ups, players will start moving towards all the pick ups and destroy the areas of interest where we want players to face off.
For example:
-Sanctuary TS… with 1 rocket and two snipers. in this situation, both teams pick up their snipers and the remaining players battle for the rockets which makes a very interesting battle at this location of interest. This scenario provides for a challenging battle for control of the rockets every time rockets spawn. This takes skill and provides the exciting gameplay we witnessed in halo 2.
-Now on top of the snipers and rockets, add some spartan or armor abilities on the map… this disperses players all over the map in hopes to pick up something that will help each individual player compete against the opposing team that most likely will have their own abilities. The problem here is the lack of map control that makes halo skillful. Players under these conditions rely on pick ups rather than control. Remember that in halo 2, power ups/weapons where placed on the map not just because they were fun to use (like what we see now with AA’s), but also to create movement to areas of interest. Hence, this causes teams to rush these areas of interest and fight for the weapons/power ups that will give them the advantage, which in turn creates the exciting and fast pace gameplay we love.
The point is that we need only 4 or 5 pickups on their own static timers to provoke players to move to these location and confront each other. Halo requires this control so that teams are constantly confronting each other. With only one pick up on the map for example, players can work together to win the pick up from the other team (this requires skill and team work). in contrast, with 10 pickups, no one works together because everyone is off doing their own thing, picking up which ever individual ability they believe will give them the advantage. this breaks halo!
My solution: Instead of armor abilities, make more power ups. more things like speed boost and damage boost and alternate them on their static spawns. 343 needs to add an ordnance drop that allows you to place multiple static pickups in order, somewhat like the random drop we have in halo 4. For example, you place an ordnance drop in the center of the map and it will give you the option to place multiple power ups on the list which will spawn on the map in order. OS initial, Damage boost two minutes after that, speed boost 2 minutes after the Damage boost. Prometean Vision could work as a power up and could be dropped on that multiple power up ordnance drop. Once its picked up, you have 30 seconds of unlimited use just like the speed boost or OS. we could bring back active camo to power ups, just like it used to be in the good old days. And it can be done with any ability as long as its made powerful enough to attract people to pick it up. this way we prevent the clutter of pick ups!

How many threads are needed talking about something that has been confirmed to NOT be in the game?
